Our Team Singapore Olympians made us proud in Tokyo. Now, it’s our Paralympians’ turn to fly our flag high, as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games kick off today.

Our Paralympians have sacrificed and worked hard to make it to this pinnacle event for sports. Not only have they trained relentlessly, but they have spent their lives overcoming peoples’ expectations of the differently-abled. Now, they will represent Singapore at the Paralympics. Some, like Nur Syahidah (Archery), who tells her story in the video below, have already proven themselves on the world stage. Others, like Steve Tee (Tandem Cycling), are making their Paralympics debut. Steve is also one of my residents in Ang Mo Kio GRC!

Whatever the results may be, I know you’ll all make us all proud. Let’s go, Team Singapore! 🇸🇬 – LHL

It’s never too late to celebrate Hari Raya and the warmth of family, friends, festivities and, not forgetting, food!

Happy to launch a very special Hari Raya cookbook during the Ang Mo Kio virtual celebration today. The 21 tasty recipes were contributed by AMK residents, including family recipes that have been lovingly passed down. I hope you will try them out at home!

A pity we could not celebrate in person earlier, but grateful that we can all still gather together online. Many thanks to the Ang Mo Kio GRC, Kebun Baru and Yio Chu Kang SMC MAEC for organising this event.

Hope to see all of you again as soon as the circumstances allow. In the meantime, do get vaccinated once it is offered to you. And continue to practise good habits to keep yourself and your family safe! – LHL

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Masih belum terlambat untuk kita raikan kemeriahannya bersama ahli keluarga, teman-teman dan tidak lupa, hidangan lazat!

Gembira dapat melancarkan sebuah buku masakan Hari Raya yang sangat istimewa semasa sambutan penduduk Ang Mo Kio secara maya, hari ini. 21 resipi yang sedap-sedap belaka telah disumbangkan oleh penduduk AMK sendiri, termasuk beberapa resipi keluarga turun-temurun. Cubalah sendiri di rumah ya!

Sayang sekali kita tidak dapat meraikannya lebih awal. Tetapi, saya cukup gembira kerana kita semua masih dapat berkumpul dalam talian. Saya ingin ucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada wakil-wakil MAEC Kelab Masyarakat GRC Ang Mo Kio, SMC Kebun Baru dan SMC Yio Chu Kang atas sumbangan anda semua.

Saya harap untuk berjumpa anda bila keadaan mengizinkan nanti. Sementara itu, dapatkan vaksinasi secepat mungkin dan terus jaga kebersihan, jaga kesihatan diri anda dan keluarga anda! – LHL
