【LifeinTaiwan is looking for an intern】
Hello everyone,
I love being a Youtuber. I love the freedom it gives me and appreciate the connection it gives me to my ever-so-supportive audience. I began the channel 4 years ago and never imagined it would be more than a small hobby or side project that I would do in my spare time in order to allow my son in South Africa, William, to watch his Daddy sharing his Life in Taiwan with him and anyone else who wants to watch.
I have been so blessed that although the channel and myself have had some ups and downs over the years, the channel has grown to a size where I feel that I am now able to offer somebody the opportunity to join me and share the journey I am taking through the Youtube world. For 4 years, over countless hours I have created 300 videos and grown to the channel to a quarter of a million subscribers all by myself. Video conception, writing, planning, producing, filming, editing, subtitling and re-editing have all been done by myself with the occasional welcome assistance from friends who have stepped in when I have required help. Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point.
However, it has recently become apparent that I need help. The constant strive for ideas and pressure to create interesting, watchable videos has pushed me to the limit of what one person can do in order to provide the best content for the viewers here in Taiwan and around the world. This is in addition to the fact that as a foreigner in Taiwan, I often find myself needing the help of a Taiwanese person to prevent making some basic mistakes that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Therefore, in order to show you a higher level of content and better quality videos, I have decided to invite an intern to join me! 💪

Let me tell you something that I am not comfortable admitting.
Sometimes I’m really scared of choosing this path, being creator.
There are times I just couldn’t bring myself to write or draw anything. I felt really frustrated when I have blanked mind.
But I started to learn how to deal with this insecurity and knowing what would trigger me this negative vibe.
I can’t always have good creating days, I have to accept that.
So when I do, I know I’ll work harder and appreciate it more 💕
//
I hope you all have a wonderful life.
Let’s bring each other up and grow together

Yesterday random realisation with Josh: The last time we ordered claypot rice when eating out.. Was about 7+ years ago.. 🥲 Funny thing is, claypot rice was one of our favourites when we were pator-ing and married without kids. And let's be honest, claypot rice dabao (which i did order from a few shops a few times) is just not the same as mixing the rice and the chaodah rice with the soya sauce and oil ON THE SPOT when the pot is hot 😄 Yknow what i mean.
Anyway we figured out why claypot rice is just never the choice when eating out with kids 😅 1) i assume it's not something our young kids can appreciate. 2) The nicer ones must queue very long. 3) The nicer ones that must queue is always at some far-out places with nothing much to bring the kids to go look see 😂 So yup. 就这样, 我七年多没有在外头吃沙煲饭了 🥲😂
Parenthood can so drastically change you in big and small ways, good and bad ways. Ways that are obvious and ways that are not.
Last time i like to take pictures of myself a lot. And with Josh. And when i travel for work, i'd buy truckloads of cup noodles, makeup, clothes and tidbits etc. After having kids when i travel, my luggage is full of kids stuff. Toys, kids clothes, snacks for them..
I try to understand what's this feeling. It's definitely not regret nor sadness that i feel. It's just a reminder of a piece of me, of who i used to be but i'm happy where i am, who i am now ❤️ A mother of three. And i do still like to take pictures a lot. Cox i'm so scared that every moment that i'm so thankful for, will pass me without me giving it an intentional "Thank You."
Even now, i don't know when's the next time i will eat claypot rice outside but.. I am thankful the kids are healthy, we had a fun kiddie pool day and.. I only put on 3kg from eating so much mooncakes LOL.
Don't forget to remember what makes you happy ❤️

How are sushi restaurants in Singapore and Japan different? I've created mini skits to demonstrate the differences starting from entering the restaurant and paying the bill. Just a short disclaimer, I have no intentions of making fun of different pronunciations of Japanese words. Heck, I myself pronounce a lot of English and Mandarin incorrectly too. But I do feel it sounds kind of cute.
The latter half of the skit is inspired by calvinandhabs. Check them out, they are hilarious.

It's been almost a year since I've seen my mom in person. My whole life I've always considered myself as a mama's boy and somewhat of a rebel as well in some cases. I've always felt that my mom was trying her best all the time ever since I was born to be the best mom she could be for me and my brother. (deng writing till this point kinda makes me tear up a bit)
Even till now, I'm 23 this year and she's still finding her ways to get close to me, making sure that I'm doing great in all aspects of my life. I will definitely say, I thank God for giving me such an amazing mom. Someone who does it all, and would stop at nothing to make sure that I'm doing great in my life.
Words can't describe how much I appreciate the effort and love my mom has given me. And I do pray and hope that I can do the same for her, to the people around me and to the world.
Mom's are truly awesome. And my mom is the most awesome one in my heart. I love you so much mummy, really hope to see you soon.
P.S. I've actually teared up while writing this. I guess writing it down really made me realise how hard it must have been for my mom to raise me and my brother. And it made me realise how little i've done for my mom and I should definitely do more.
Side note: Happy Mother's Day to all of you!! Share this video with your mom if felt the same way as I do.

這是張偉軒小提琴老師為學生所錄製的 海頓 小夜曲 Haydn Serenade - Andante Cantabile (ハイドンのセレナーデ )。 篠崎 バイオリン教本 4/5冊 小提琴演奏示範拉奏 Violin performing
Joseph Haydn’s Serenade for Violin and Piano (from his string quartet in F major) is one of the most delightful pieces by the austrian composer.
Roman Hoffstetter was a classical composer and Benedictine monk who also admired Joseph Haydn almost to the point of imitation. Hoffstetter wrote "everything that flows from Haydn's pen seems to me so beautiful and remains so imprinted on my memory that I cannot prevent myself now and again from imitating something as well as I can."In 1965, the musicologist Alan Tyson (with H.C. Robbins Landon) published the finding that the entire set of six String Quartets long-admired as Haydn's Op. 3, including the Andante cantabile of No. 5 in F Major known as Haydn's Serenade, were actually by Roman Hoffstetter. Further discoveries have more strongly established Hoffstetter's authorship of at least the first two of the six quartets.
