[UPDATE] Jeff Bezos เตรียมก้าวลง จากตำแหน่ง CEO ของ Amazon.com
ไม่กี่ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา เจฟฟ์ เบโซส ผู้ก่อตั้งและ CEO คนปัจจุบันของ Amazon.com บริษัทเทคโนโลยีและเจ้าของแพลตฟอร์มอีคอมเมิร์ซยักษ์ใหญ่ของโลก ประกาศว่า เขากำลังจะก้าวลงจากตำแหน่ง CEO ของ Amazon.com แล้ว

เจฟฟ์ เบโซส เผยว่า ตัวเขาในวัย 57 ปี จะก้าวลงจากตำแหน่ง CEO ของบริษัท ซึ่งจะมีผลในช่วงไตรมาสที่ 3 ของปี 2021 ที่กำลังจะถึงนี้

ส่วนว่าที่ CEO คนใหม่ คือ Andy Jassy
ที่มีดีกรีเป็นผู้บริหารสูงสุดในส่วนธุรกิจคลาวด์ของ Amazon.com

Andy Jassy ปัจจุบันอายุ 53 ปี
ซึ่งก็ถือเป็นพนักงานรุ่นบุกเบิกธุรกิจคลาวด์ของบริษัท
โดยเขาเข้าร่วมงานกับ Amazon.com ตั้งแต่ปี 1997
และเป็นตัวหลักในการนำทีมปลุกปั้น Amazon Web Services (AWS)
จน AWS เติบโตมาเป็นเจ้าตลาด Cloud service สำหรับองค์กรในทุกวันนี้

ส่วนทางด้าน เจฟฟ์ เบโซส ก็จะยังไม่ได้หายไปไหน
เขาจะเปลี่ยนไปนั่งในตำแหน่ง Executive chairman หรือประธานกรรมการบริหารของบริษัทแทน
โดยเขาก็จะยังมีส่วนในการตัดสินใจโปรเจกต์สำคัญๆ อยู่ เพียงแต่ลดบทบาทการบริหารงานลงเพื่อให้มีเวลาไปโฟกัสกับเรื่องที่เขาสนใจมากขึ้น

After visiting Makulu (banana) waterfall for the first time several years ago I asked some villagers in Dawu Village for the name of the waterfall. They both told me that the waterfall had no name, and didn't want to offer a new name for it. That presented a problem for me, because in my mapping system each location has to have a it's own name. There is a "place name" entry field on my website and I can't leave it blank. So I asked a friend to help me fill in that space. They took it very seriously, and after much deliberation came back with "Makulu", from the fable of the black bear and the clouded leopard.

Later after publishing this waterfall, some commenters mentioned that "the local kids call it Banana Waterfall" so I also added that name to my website. This website shows maps of waterfalls all over Taiwan with the express mission of making them more accessible to all people, and bringing everyone closer to nature. Despite the high number of users on this site, there are still no ads posted there, even after 5 years, because that isn't the point of my website. It's not a commercial venture. These maps are free for everyone to use. That's why it came as some surprise to me that the new regulation for commercializing this waterfall used the same name that was first published on my website. This area isn't just "makulu waterfall" on some random foreigners blog anymore. It's now also "makulu waterfall" in Taiwanese law. How ironic that the name I choose to share it with everyone is also the name that's used to keep me out. Would selling tours there still be an option if I hadn't published it?
