What a gift to be taught and led by one of the best teachers in the RIE world the last two weeks.
Thank you Deborah Carlisle Solomon for the gift of time and for giving me such a beautiful and profound look into Magda and Dr Emmi Pikler’s work.
Going home so filled with respect and authenticity for getting the privilege and honor to walk these sacred halls of motherhood with the parents I get to lead with everyday.

I’m just about to get on a flight to Beijing to train and study with Deborah Carlisle Solomon, who was the executive director of RIE USA where it all started.
My mama heart is so heavy to leave, it’s the longest I’ve ever been away from Ella Grace but I am reminded all over again of the honor and privilege of what I do and why I do and why I go.
In my #girlboss talks, I always talk about putting on a BRA, to build, to review, and then to adapt.
Sometimes, it takes courage and bravery you think you don’t have. Sometimes it takes being vulnerable enough to seek. For me and my very small field of Respectful Parenting in Malaysia, it means going and flying out and shadowing and carving my own professional development growth.
I’m making my own conference. I’m doing the things I ask my participants to do. Step out of your comfort zone and pursue. Challenge yourself out of your safe and throw yourself into the amazing. Demand more, expect more, do the hard heart work.
My dearest Clare and to everyone that’s ever attended a workshop or a talk or had a session or follow me on here, thank you. Thank you for pushing me the way I push you, to be kind, to be authentic, to lead with love, to be brave.
Let’s go be brave together, mamas.
❤️
I have learned so much from Racheal, and the life of my family is so much better for having attended her Toddler Wars workshop. The little practical hints and tips she gives are priceless and implementing just a few small changes at home has made the world of difference - mostly to my stress levels!! Everyone in our home now knows what is expected in any given situation, and I know how to handle tired/grumpy/hungry tantrums calmly and effectively. It really is magic to see the techniques in action! I'm so much more confident in my parenting and I would recommend her workshops to anyone. My little boy was only 18 months when we attended, it was more as preparation for the 'terrible twos' I'd heard so much about. Six months down the line my son is a joy to be around, I love being his mum, and I don't feel fazed at all by the upcoming toddler years. As Racheal always says, 'you've got this, mama' and thanks to her, I actually feel like I do. So thank you, thank you, thank you Racheal x

The Philadelphia 76ers hadn't won a game. The Indiana Pacers hadn't lost.
Until Saturday night.
The 76ers, playing their fourth game in five days, handed the Pacers a 111-109 loss and gave Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks his first win with the team.
The Pacers were unbeaten and are among the favorites to contend for the Eastern Conference title. The 76ers were coming off a 20-point loss to Detroit and a 17-point home loss to Charlotte.
Chris Webber said the team was happy to get a win for Cheeks, who played for the 76ers.
"It felt good to get coach Cheeks his first win because he's proud to be a 76er and that makes me proud to be a 76er," said Webber, who had 25 points and nine rebounds.
Allen Iverson led Philadelphia (1-3) with 29 points and 12 assists.
Jermaine O'Neal led Indiana (2-1) with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Philadelphia ruined Ron Artest's first regular-season home game since last November. He was suspended for 73 games and the playoffs last season after going into the stands Nov. 19 and fighting with Pistons fans in Auburn Hills, Mich. He finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
The 76ers nearly blew a 20-point lead. Indiana had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but Stephen Jackson and Jamaal Tinsley missed 3-pointers and Webber made two free throws on the other end with 1.8 seconds left to seal the win.
Tinsley finished with 21 points and six assists. Jackson scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, making three 3-pointers.
"This was a heck of a win for us," Cheeks said. "We had to grind it out in the end, and they made some spectacular 3-point shots, but we were able to hold on."
Kyle Korver, who had 15 points and a career-high nine assists for the 76ers, said Cheeks motivated the team before the game.
"Coach challenged us," he said. "He didn't yell, he didn't curse or anything like that. He just laid it on the line for us and told us we need to meet the challenge."
The Pacers were grasping for answers after starting the season with wins at Orlando and Miami. Tinsley said the loss takes some luster off the impressive start.
"We waited too late to play," Tinsley said. "Can't wait until the fourth quarter then hope to play catch-up and win. Coming here and laying an egg took enough away from it."
Artest might have tried to do too much in his long-awaited return to Conseco Fieldhouse. The Pacers made their first 20 free-throw attempts, but Artest missed one in the final minute with the Pacers trailing 108-105. He also had a turnover on a drive to the hoop with the Pacers trailing 106-102, and Webber scored at the other end to increase Philadelphia's lead to four with 1:45 left.
Iverson entered the game third in the league with 31.7 points per game despite shooting 39 percent from the field. He made 11-of-29 shots against the Pacers.
"My teammates did a great job," he said. "They hit big shots. They picked me up tonight and helped me out."
Philadelphia led 61-52 at halftime and took an 86-66 lead on Iverson's basket with 4:14 left in the third quarter.
"Our defense has to be more solid, 111 points on our court is too many," Indiana coach Rick Carlisle said. "We have to be a better defensive team than that."

Since the Detroit Pistons don't have a spectacular scorer, they get the ball to the man of the moment.
In Game 2 against Philadelphia, that player was Tayshaun Prince -- again.
Prince, the seldom-used rookie who has thrived in the playoffs, scored seven straight points at the end of regulation and the start of overtime as Detroit defeated the 76ers 104-97 Thursday night to take a 2-0 lead in their second-round series.
"Of course I was surprised,'' Prince said. "But this is a team that doesn't have a top star on it. Whenever a guy gets going, the coaches and the guy on the bench say, 'Let's get this guy the ball.' It's just a matter of who has the good feeling in the game, and in the overtime and just before overtime, that guy was me.''
Allen Iverson scored 31 points, but with a 92-90 lead and 15.1 seconds left in regulation he missed two free throws to give the Pistons a chance at an improbable win.
"I take the blame for this one,'' Iverson said. "If I made one or two free throws, we're going home happy. Put this one on me.''
Detroit's Chauncey Billups missed the game with a sprained ankle after scoring 101 points in three games. He was replaced by Chucky Atkins, who had scored just 23 points in eight playoff games. Atkins matched that total while playing 44 minutes.
Prince, who scored 20 points in Game 7 against Orlando in the first round, made a difficult spinning 4-footer with 4.3 seconds left to force overtime. He scored the first five points in the extra session on a layup and a 3-pointer just before the shot clock expired.
Atkins made a 3-pointer with 2:07 left to give Detroit, which set an NBA record by going 8-0 in overtime, a 100-93 lead.
Iverson said he was not surprised to see Prince and Atkins play so well.
"They don't just grab guys off the street and put them on NBA rosters,'' he said.
The series now moves to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4 Saturday and Sunday.
It's safe to say Prince will not be spending as much time on the bench as he did during most of the regular season and the start of the playoffs.
The native of Compton, Calif., appeared in just 42 games after being the 23rd pick in the draft out of Kentucky. He averaged 3.3 points in 10 minutes a game.
Prince didn't play in the opening game of the playoffs against Orlando, scored two points in Games 2-3 and despite slowing down Tracy McGrady, didn't play in Game 4.
After Detroit coach Rick Carlisle was criticized for keeping Prince on the bench, he scored 15 points in Game 5 and 20 points in Game 7 as the Pistons became the seventh team in NBA history to win a series after trailing 3-1.
Prince played a career-high 39 minutes Thursday night.
"When you don't play much, there's a hungriness inside of you,'' Prince said. "You want to bring something to the team.
"At first, it was just defense against Orlando. But now I've been able to help on the other end.''
Richard Hamilton scored 23 points, Cliff Robinson scored 14 of his 16 points in the first quarter, Jon Barry had 11 and Ben Wallace had 15 rebounds, seven points and two blocked shots.
Iverson wasn't a one-man team, either.
Kenny Thomas scored 15 points and grabbed a playoff-high 19 rebounds. Eric Snow, playing on an injured right foot, scored 14 points. Derrick Coleman and Aaron McKie each scored 12.
The Sixers came back from a 14-point deficit midway through the second quarter, and Iverson made two free throws with 1:40 left to give Philadelphia its first lead since the end of the third quarter. Snow's jumper on their next possession put Philadelphia ahead 92-89.
Hamilton made one of two free throws -- continuing Detroit's poor night at the line as the Pistons missed 14 of 35 attempts. But Iverson gave Detroit a chance, with each of his attempts hitting the rim and bouncing out.
The Pistons had no timeouts left, and the ball eventually got to Prince on the right wing. He backed in against McKie, avoided Snow's swipe at the ball and twisted his body around before releasing a soft floater that was all net as the crowd went crazy.
Snow airballed a long 3-pointer at the end of regulation as Philadelphia could not get the ball into Iverson's hands.
"I was yelling for Allen to shoot more,'' Philadelphia coach Larry Brown said.
Before Billups was signed as a free agent last summer, Atkins started 137 games over two seasons and averaged at least 12 points. Atkins averaged 11.3 points in 10 playoff games last season.
Atkins ran Detroit's offensive effectively in the first quarter, leading it to a 30-25 lead, and made several key baskets, including shots in the final seconds of the first and third quarters.
Game notes
Robinson missed six shots after going 6-of-7 in the first quarter. ... Detroit missed eight of 10 foul shots in the first half. ... Atkins scored 22 points for his previous playoff-high in Game 5 of the second round last year against Boston.

Through All-Star games, an MVP award and a trip to the NBA Finals, there was something missing in Allen Iverson's career. A perfect ending.
Iverson sank the first buzzer-beating shot of his nine-year career, a 14-footer in overtime, and scored 15 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-104 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Friday night.
"It's a great feeling to hit a shot with no time on the clock," said Iverson, who sank a halfcourt winner for the U.S. Olympic team against Germany in an exhibition game.
Iverson is getting used to dramatic shots.
He sent a game into overtime in the final seconds earlier this week, then didn't lose confidence against the Pacers even as he struggled with his shot. He played 44 minutes, but went just 5-for-23 from the floor.
"I just couldn't get in no type of rhythm," Iverson said. "I couldn't get warm. I couldn't feel my hands the whole game."
He was hot when it mattered, though, as Iverson took the ball the length of the court and beat the short-handed Pacers with a shot from just above the free throw line over Eddie Gill.
"His shots didn't fall until the last one, and who cares about the others?" coach Jim O'Brien said.
Kyle Korver made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 23 points, Marc Jackson had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and John Salmons and Corliss Williamson each scored 15 points for the Sixers.
Korver capped Philadelphia's furious fourth-quarter comeback with a 3 from the top of the key with 3.6 seconds left, tying it 100-all.
"I knew we needed a 3, so I just backed up and took it," Korver said.
The win spoiled the return of Indiana's Ron Artest, benched for two games for asking for time off because of his busy schedule -- including producing an R&B album and working on his side career as a rapper. Coach Rick Carlisle said Artest "compromised the integrity of the team."
Artest scored 29 points and had a flagrant foul late in the fourth quarter, Jermaine O'Neal had a career-high 39 points, and Stephen Jackson 17 for Indiana. Artest and O'Neal combined for a 24-for-38 effort.
"If you try to do the right things, good things happen to you," Artest said. "I think everything happens for a reason. Nobody got hurt. There's a bunch of good people on this team."
Artest's return helped offset the absences of center Scot Pollard (sore back), forward Jonathan Bender (viral infection), guard Fred Jones (quad strain) and center John Edwards (personal reasons).
With Reggie Miller (hand), Anthony Johnson (hand) and Jeff Foster (hip) also out, the Pacers only had eight players available.
In overtime, they were down to five.
The Pacers lost O'Neal, who gave the Pacers a 102-100 lead on the first play of OT, when he fouled out after reaching in on Iverson on the next possession. Jamaal Tinsley (10 assists) and David Harrison also fouled out in overtime.
Four Pacers starters played at least 40 minutes through regulation while Iverson was the only Sixer to do so. Korver hit three contested 3s and scored 11 points in the fourth to rally Philadelphia from a 17-point deficit in the third quarter.
Seldom-used James Jones took the last shot for Indiana in OT, but Artest said he should have had the ball.
"We have confidence in all our teammates," Artest said. "If JJ was open, he would have knocked that shot down. I should have took that last shot."
While Artest was gone, the Pacers suffered a 102-68 loss Wednesday to the Clippers, the worst home loss in franchise history.
But with O'Neal and Artest getting along on the court -- after getting into a locker room shouting match last week -- the Pacers hardly needed anyone else. Artest instantly put the distractions of the past week behind him, tuning out the taunts of the fans to score 16 points in the first half.
Korver had the oddest play of the game in the first quarter when he attempted to pass the ball -- it looked like an alley-oop -- to Kenny Thomas, but the pass went in for a 3-pointer.
Game notes
Sixers G Aaron McKie was placed on the injured list with a strained left rotator cuff. He is expected to miss seven to 10 days. The 76ers also activated guards Kevin Ollie and John Salmons and placed guard Kendrick Brown (low back strain) on injured reserve. F Glenn Robinson remained on the injured list and is in Chicago tending to a family matter. C Samuel Dalembert (hamstring) missed his fourth straight game ... Harrison's dad, Dennis, was a defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles. ... The Sixers won consecutive overtime games for the first time since 1993.
