2015同志社群歷史月 -《 我們也要結婚》電影放映及影後座談會

每年十月份為美國同志社群歷史月，以鼓吹同志社群 – 女同志、男同志、雙性戀、變性者及跨性別者- 的平等權利與理解寬容。為了響應2015台灣同志遊行及同志社群歷史月，美國在台協會將於10月23日下午2點舉辦ㄧ場「美國同志經驗分享 -《 我們也要結婚 》」電影放映及影後座談會。

兩位已婚的美國同志平權運動者約翰卡塔尼亞及查理依卡納西歐，將獻映原作來自深具歷史意義的美國同志電視影集《 同志生活實錄 》，探討有關同志婚姻、同志撫養家庭、同志小孩的家長及身處華人文化的同志等議題。他們也將參與映後座談會，與觀眾暢談交流。本活動全程免費並提供中文逐步翻譯，請事先報名。

Celebrate LGBTI History Month at the American Center!

Every October the United States celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex - the LGBTI History Month - to encourage equal rights and openness about being LGBTI. To coincide with Gay Pride Taipei 2015 and LGBTI History Month, the American Institute in Taiwan will host a speaker program entitled, “The Gay American Experience: Why Our Marriages Matter” at the American Center on Friday, October 23 at 2:00PM.

Guest speakers John Catania and Charles Ignacio, two married American gay activists, will present gem stories from “In the Life” aired between 1992 and 2012 on the U.S. Public Broadcast System (PBS). The historic television series dealt with same-sex family life issues, including gay marriage, gays raising families, parents of LGBT children, and being gay in Chinese culture.

After the film screening, they will answer questions from the audience. Admission is free. Advanced registration is required. Come Join us for the “Why Our Marriage Matters” Screening and Talk.
