【聖誕節跟耶穌生日沒關係，其實是古羅馬的「冬至日」？】
說起聖誕，相信有不少人都已經知道聖誕並不是真的耶穌的出生日。「Christmas」一詞，本來就是「Christ」與「mass」二字合成，即「基督的節日」，並沒有說就是耶穌的生日。
但這天卻是冬至日？冬至不是應該在12月21日的前後一天嗎？這其實有兩派的說法：

CHRISTMAS. A time where we all gather for a time of reunion and celebration with our loved ones and friends, where the city streets are filled with Christmas spirit. But it is never complete without attending a Christmas mass, especially the Christmas Midnight Mass at St Joseph’s Cathedral. It is like the star on top of a Christmas tree, without it it is never complete. And like the star, it is perhaps the only and most exciting thing of the entire experience. And I tell you, it is always worth it.
So here are some snippets of the experience. This year I decided to be more present as opposed to chasing moments. Because the greatest gift one can give to another is presence, and He without question, deserves it all for His birthday. @ St. Joseph's Cathedral Kuching

你有想過到底是X’mas還是Xmas呢？
到底有沒有那個撇呢？
好像都看過，但是到底哪個是對的呢？
在解釋到底哪個是對的之前
先來看兩個例子
例子1：
picture變成pic
hippopotamus變成hippo
這個大家應該都沒有問題吧
就是一個大家懶，只取字的前面
這樣比較方便
例子2：
do not變成don't
is not變成isn't
也是大家懶，把字變少
所以多了縮寫點
看完例子
那到底是Xmas還是X'mas呢？
Christmas可以把它拆成
Christ跟mas
Christ代表基督的意思
mas是字尾 代表mass 彌撒的意思
Christ在希臘文中的第一個字母是X
所以後來為了方便 會用X代替Christ
那這樣
你覺得應該是Xmas還是X'mas呢
答案就是Xmas
因為他不是縮寫哦
或是也可以寫成X-mas

在亞洲太多人用錯了
多到連查資料的時候
有的解釋的部分還會特別點出說
這樣錯誤的用法，很常出現在亞洲
也是有點好笑XD
不過啦
還是會建議寫Christmas哦
因為
1. 有些基督徒覺得寫X 不禮貌
2. 有些人覺得寫X不正式
