【Games of Patience 耐人風聲】：三人爵士樂隊Game of Patience耐人風聲，融合自由爵士、電子樂和即興音樂元素，呈獻當代自由即興的音樂對話與互動，扣人心弦。由美國貝斯及電音手布萊恩、澳洲鼓手達爾仁及的本地薩斯風手楊延升組成的樂隊，通過音樂與樂器的相互對應，呈獻獨具一格的演奏方式與思維。继上今年1月份配合2014年“年味节”在茨廠家 • 鄉音館演出之后，这一回Game of Patience连同南印度的传统Tabla敲击乐师SURESH VAIDYANATHAN，循着欧洲与亚洲风声，在老街跨玩造音！
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS:
【GAME OF PATIENCE】 creates sharp sweeping shards of improvised music combining elements of free jazz, electronic music and free improv. The group features Yong Yandsen (sax), Brian O'Reilly (acoustic bass+electronics) and Darren Moore (drums).
The SURESH VAIDYANATHAN and DARREN MOORE PERCUSSION DUO is a meeting point of South Indian Carnatic percussion and contemporary drum set playing. Rather than an superficial East meets West fusion, Vaidyanathan and Moore aim to find a middle ground between the two traditions with a focus on improvisation and interplay.
SURESH VAIDYANATHAN is regarded at one of India's top ghatam players, renown for his revolutionary aesthetically aggressive approach. A master percussionist and improviser, he has worked with Zakir Hussian, Karaikudi Mani, Bickram Gosh and was even featured on Paul Simon's latest album 'So beautiful or so what'. Vaidyanathan is a well respected percussionist throughout the world who regularly plays international festivals and concerts on the highest professional level.
DARREN MOORE a highly creative and original drum set player who is regarded as one of leading improvisers based in Asia. Darren maintains an international profile by touring and playings festivals in Asia, Europe and Australia on a regular basis. He has performed with international artists such as Otomo Yoshihide, Uchihashi Kazuhisa, Jon Rose, Johannes Bauer, Tobias Delius as well as performing in groups with fellow LASALLE lecturers Tim O'Dwyer, Greg Lyons, and Brian O'Reilly. He is an in demand musician locally performing a range of styles from jazz, funk, rock, free-jazz, and experimental music.
