又是逆轉勝，除了第一場外，後三場拓荒者皆曾有取勝的契機，但對手是勇士，做好大半場是不夠的；拓荒者上半場的表現總是驚艷，雖然下半場和最後結局是苦澀的，但教練 Terry Stotts 在用人上不墨守成規的表現令人為之一亮。
這場上半場 Meyers Leonard 便拿下 25 分，半場主場坐鎮的拓荒者小幅領先 4 分；第三節開局階段拓荒者雙槍 Damian Lillard 與 C.J. McCollum 發揮出色，這節他倆攻下 9、11 分，但當 01:55 時 Leonard 將球隊比分與對手拉大高達 17 分時，以 Stephen Curry 為首，帶領 Draymond Green、Shaun Livingston、Kevon Looney 迅速打出 9：0 的反擊，第三節打完拓荒者尚有 8 分領先。

Zach Collins 的爆發助球隊取得領先，但衛冕軍勇士一波 14：3 的攻勢，04:34 兩隊 104：104 再度戰平，Rodney Hood 與 Looney 一來一回，Green 的兩分助球隊領先，Lillard 三分球反超，Leonard 助球隊拉開差距，Klay Thompson 的三分球再度扳平戰局，最後一分多鐘兩隊球員皆無緣進球，以 111 平進入延長賽。
兩隊在延長賽互相拉鋸，Alfonzo McKinnie 助球隊再度反超後，Green 的三分球助球隊在僅剩 39’ 差距拉開到 4 分，Lillard 馬上扳回兩分，Curry 不中後，隨著 Lillard 錯失最後一球，也結束了這賽季；勇士兩分之差拿下比賽，此系列賽 4：0 橫掃對手。

自 2012 年執教迄今的 Stotts，在隊史執教長度是僅次於 Jack Ramsay 的存在，今年季後賽雖然沒有 Jusuf Nurkić，但除了雙槍，尚用活了 Hood、Enes Kanter、Seth Curry、Collins、Maurice Harkless、Al-Farouq Aminu，甚至 Evan Turner 與這場爆發的 Leonard，今年季後賽的表現 - 帶領球隊重返睽違多年的西區決賽 - 絕對是他執教迄今的最高峰，期待 Stotts 執教的拓荒者能持續進化。

至於勇士，這支四年三冠球隊的團隊戰力，尤其是替補戰力，在 Steve Kerr 的使用下幾乎一掃季後賽開打前「板凳戰力薄弱」的印象，Kevin Durant、DeMarcus Cousins 這系列賽四場皆未上陣，Andre Iguodala 因上一場受傷這場也未上，但 Kerr 這場因堅持，上陣 14 min 以上的球員依然多達八人，Jonas Jerebko 與 Andrew Bogut 也有約 10 min 的上場時間，而這些球員也證明自己在爭冠旅程中可以有所貢獻。

最後提一下 Stephen Curry，他這系列賽的四場表現穩定 30+ 的表現成為 NBA 七戰四勝橫掃史上的第五人，而 Stephen Curry 與 Draymond Green 同場皆拿下大三元的表現更是 NBA 季後賽史上的第一次。
