I love that @weareprojectroom chose to shoot in a durian farm ☺️ This scene I’m sitting on a low durian tree branch, on a hill, overlooking the long mountain ranges in the distance.
Just as with our music, we also think about how our fashion is and can be contemporary without losing our heritage, and without losing our stories, but instead, amplifying them. Trust me when I say, a lot of thought and consultation goes into the styling (and music, and everything you see in the MV).
The silver bib & belt are handwoven in Kuching using the Malay songket weaving tradition. They were inspired to make a feminine version of the Iban & orang ulu war coat and loincloth (cawat). Made by the artisans of @tanoticrafts
The coin belt is traditionally worn by Iban ladies, it was gift to me from my mother on my 13th birthday.
The headpiece was handmade by my aunty Remat about ten years ago. It’s traditionally worn by orang ulu ladies and comes in many colours.
