Enjoying the simplest enjoyment in life. The Sun.
We never thought we would have 2 cats before our baby came along. But when i saw Pito at Capitol Theatre's B5 carpark, emaciated, and covered in fleas, i knew i had to nurse her back to health.
The intention was always to foster her temporarily. Because we really wasn't planning on adopting #2 so early on. She also developed an extreme insecurity towards food, perhaps bcos she was so lacked of it as a kitten. She would steal our food off the plate, rip open our groceries, munch on the cookies or bread we leave on the countertop. Sometimes we would come home to a carpet and floor filled with food crumps!
Those moments were really testing! So many times, we wanted to give her away or put her up for adoption. But all the time, @deon.woo and i would just end up encouraging each other to be more patient and accepting towards her flaws.
We couldn't change her. So we changed us. These days, you'll find no food of any kind exposed on table tops. They are all kept hidden in the cabinet or oven(for temporary storage).
She is extremely adorable and loving when she doesn't get triggered. She's like a little doggy. First to greet us at the door when we are home, first to run to the door whenever we come out from the bedroom. When we are home, she'll be walking right next to our feet wherever we go. When @Deon.woo goes to office on weekdays, she'll hide under the sofa, refuse to say goodbye because she's sad.
The moment we accept her for what she is. We start to embrace and love all of her. It's the same with human, the same with ourselves. Nothing and no one is perfect. But if you keep rejecting these imperfections, you'll never see beyond that. And very often, beyond that is a beautiful soul waiting to love you right back.
