It's Thanksgiving week for us so if we're a little slow in replies, it's because mama and Ella Bella are knee deep in turkey prints and likely dancing in the kitchen with flour in our hair! 😂❤️

How do you involve teeny tiny in your holiday prep?

Her first Thanksgiving, I put her in a carrier on my back (never in front if you're working by the stove) and she would snuggle in our little roo sleeping and feeding and cooing as mama prepped and chopped and cooked.

Her second Thanksgiving, she was just over a year old and would happily play by me. I would involve her by explaining what I was doing but she was still very much an observer at this point.

This year, she is two and a BIG GIRL now so she's joyfully been the best grocery buddy (I tell her what we need and she helps me find it, pushes the cart, chooses the produce w me), and instead of the perfect table setting, she's helping mama make placecards for our guests - also a great way to teach her what to expect on that day, who will be coming, what we will do, etc.

Tonight, we will read a story on Thanksgiving and talk more about why we celebrate it.

I hope that as you prepare for the holidays, that your home will be filled with so much fun and laughter and that through the chaos, love will be loudest of all.

勇敢出走勇敢說出口吧,管他口音的！

恬恬一直一直在鼓勵大家勇敢出走勇敢的說英文或是任何其他語言,因為重點在於能溝通,今天也許你的英文有台灣腔調,那又怎樣別人還是聽得懂啊！舉我們班同學的例子,我的美國同學她德文滿好的,但是真的都用英文在發德文音,但老師並沒有因此聽不懂或糾正她說不能這樣發音～

我很開心最近聽到有網友申請到英國打工度假,或是很多人會私下詢問恬恬學習語言的方式,或是詢問我意見該要怎麼練習考多益,大家那認真的心真的都有感動到恬恬,這也是為何我現在儘量中英文對照打再加上德文小教室的練習～因為恬恬想讓大家花時間在讀我們的小專頁時,還可以帶一些有用的東西走！想跟恬恬練英文的也可以留言回復我英文或德文或法文,我會回你相同語言的:)希望大家可以感受到我的用心♥

恬恬想說的是,我們今天那顆想練習想變好的心勝過於那些口音那些害怕,你不敢講你就在原地,你敢講敢表達別人就對你留下印象,說錯了被糾正更好,因為你會一輩子記得而且不會再犯同樣錯～你還在害怕說英文說任何語言嗎？去他的口音管他的說錯,說就對了！

*聽到復興航空的墜機事件恬恬真的很難過,希望在農曆過年期間別再發生這類死傷的事了QQ 而且國外朋友每次得知台灣消息時,都是我們墜機或出大事的時候,我會跟朋友介紹更多台灣的好的！

Just say it out and just dare to leap! There's no need to be afraid of your accent or making mistakes!

I always try to encourage ppl to speak English or any other languages. The most important thing is to communicate. Even if you have Taiwanese accent when you speak foreign languages, ppl can still understand you no matter what. Take my American classmate for example, her German is quite well and she pronounces German in an English way. But my teacher understands her and never corrects her accent.

I am very happy to hear that there's a girl successfully applying for England working holiday. Some asked me how to practice or study language. Others asked my opinions how to prepare TOEIC. I was touched for all of these. Everyone wants to be different and they are trying hard! That's why from now on I try to write both in Chinese and English. Also, I write a short German sentence everyday so we can learn German together:) If you wanna practice English,German or French with me, you can write in those languages and I will reply you with same languages ;)

To sum up, attitude can overcome your fear and accent. If you don't dare to speak, you will be at the same place. If you dare to speak, ppl might be impressed. Even if you make any mistakes, just learn by mistakes and keep them in mind forever. Are you still afraid of speaking English or any other languages? Just say it without hesitation! Forget about mistakes or accents.
