📝 The truth is I never knew anything about taking care of my skin. Zero. Nada. Got a new pimple, scratch. Another one? Repeat. Also, one day when I was on a Jet-Ski at Langkawi, I didn’t put on sunscreen, and literally burnt my skin, with very severe repercussions. I thought all my life is going to be heavy make up to cover my face.

Fast forward to Alicia Tan introducing skincare to me, and insisting that it will help. I was reluctant, it was as though it’s pointless. One slow step at a time, I saw results, and working alongside Alicia, I saw more in the world of skincare. And I have to say, it does help. Just don’t expect a overnight success. Like many big tasks in the world, it takes one step at a time. ☺️✌️

Asher has a couple of DUPLO sets that he loves so much, not just building/pulling apart but for small world play too.

He is showing great interest in moon and space, and thinks that astronauts are super cool!

So I set up this play station to encourage him to express himself, and opened up his favourite moon books to start story telling. I made some black coloured rice, moon rockS and he built the LEGO DUPLO space shuttle set from scratch. I love how every DUPLO sets that we have would feature a man and a woman figurine, because girls can be anything that they want to be too - police officer, firefighter, astronauts and so on.

He enjoyed landing on the moon surface and said yay Neil Armstrong (lol), exploring and collecting moon rock samples. Eventually, he smashed all the moon rock with a little hammer lol.

Coloured Rice:
2 cup rice
2 tsp vinegar
Few drops of black food colouring
Shake in a ziplock bag till well mix.

Moon Rock:
Ingredients:
4 cups baking soda
¼ cup water
Glitter
Black food coloring
Instructions:
1. Pour baking soda into a large mixing bowl.
2. Slowly add water, mix as you pour. 
3. Add glitter.
4. Add black food coloring.
5. Mold the baking soda by pressing it tightly between your hands. If the baking soda is too crumbly, then add a little more water.
6. Let it dry overnight.

STARTING FROM SCRATCH ✨

I’m flying from Frankfurt, Germany to Hanoi, Vietnam. The plane isn’t busy. I’m sitting in the middle row, stretching out both legs on the 3 empty seats on my right.

I’m listening to the hum of the engine, smelling that typical plane smell - something between new plastic and old fabric.

I’m recovering from a quarter life crisis. You know, the one when your life looks good from the outside but doesn’t feel right on the inside.

Something important was missing. So I took a sabbatical break and have been travelling around Europe to find out what I really wanted.

Now it’s time to return to my home country Vietnam and do something about this clarity.

I gaze out the plane window. The horizon is orange on a bed of clouds.

“I can start a blog.” A thought pops into my mind.

No, it isn’t just a ‘thought’ from the monkey mind. It feels like guidance coming from within.

I never thought of myself as a creative person or a 'good writer'. But I’m starting over so what is there to lose anyway.

After all, I’ve spent 3 months ‘soul-searching’.
