Recently I got a thermomix and omg all I can say it that it totally deserves all the raving reviews it has! 😱
⠀
It’s literally a kitchen robot and I really feel that if you like to cook/bake, this nifty machine will change your life forever!
⠀
There are a few things I like best about Thermomix:
⠀
1) it is many machines all in one. It blends, kneads, boils, stir fries, weighs, cooks your food to the exact temperature you want, is a recipe bank, steams, can cook multiple dishes at once - it even kinda cleans itself!! My kitchen top was so cluttered but I removed my blender, mixer and rice cooker. Best!
⠀
2) it takes all the guesswork out of cooking; even complete novices can be master chefs! Within Thermomix are thousands of tested recipes. In all likelihood whatever you want to eat you can find it in there. Get the ingredients, turn on Thermomix and follow their instructions. All you have to do is dump things in and press buttons - the timing and temperature etc are all set for you so you CANNOT go wrong! 😏 I’ve been able to cook the most complicated dishes I never thought was possible!
⠀
3) it makes cooking so CLEAN. No more oily stoves as the cooking is all contained within the Thermomix! 🤩 You no longer have to use measuring cups, spatulas, weighing scales and less chopping boards too it can chop and prepare your garlic/onions for you! Save time cleaning!
⠀
4) it is so PRECISE. Steep tea at 70 degrees. Cook the perfect onsen egg every single time. Sou vide your steaks. Cook veggies at low temps so they keep their nutrition. Done ✅
⠀
That being said the Thermomix cannot deep fry, air fry or oven bake (it still can help prep by kneading). But everything else it does an amazing job of!
⠀
If you are interested, a Thermomix is going for $2,398! It isn’t cheap but considering it’s so many machines in one and the time/hassle it saves you I think it’s super worth it! This isn’t an ad by Thermomix but my friend’s aunt is a rep for them so if you are interested please WhatsApp her at -+6592962100, or see her fb at https://www.facebook.com/mavis.ong1 She will do a live demo for you so you can see it in action before deciding! No obligations.

We've wanted to try making Schneeballen for 20 years. For a long time we didn't know which country this pastry came from, but now we've learned for the first time that it can be eaten in Austria and Germany. Schneeballen seems to have the meaning of a snowball, so it's a pastry that is just right for this season. It might even be fun to take advantage of the cute round shape to decorate it in the style of a Christmas ornament. Because a specialty frying mold is expensive, we used a "ball-shaped strainer," normally used when you strain things like soup stock. It's a fried pastry, but the whole family praised it for not having a heavy flavor.
*Recipe* (Makes 3 round balls with a diameter of 6.5 cm)
1. Into your food processor (you can also knead by hand in a bowl), add 65g of all-purpose flour (if you don't have any, you can substitute half bread flour and half cake flour), 7g of powdered sugar (3/4 tbsp), and a pinch of salt. Mix ingredients together lightly, as if you're gently shaking it.
2. Add 3 medium-sized eggs (about 60g when they're still in the shell) and rum 5g (1 tsp) ,a small amount of vanilla extract, then knead.
3. Once you have finished kneading it, cut the dough (ours was 122g) into three equal pieces, and make them into balls.
4. Cover it with plastic wrap or something similar, and let it rest for 20 minutes.
5. Lightly cover the surface of the table with bread flour, then take the results from step #4 and stretch them thin using a rolling pin.
6. Cut them into slits with a roller cutter, about 1 cm wide. Try to make it so that they are not cut off completely from each other, but still have about 1 cm from the edge left over.
7. With your hand pick up every other piece, and then stretch and place them as in the video.
8. Take your thinly sliced parchment paper (33 cm long) and fold it in two. As shown in the video, tuck the parchment paper into the dough, then loosely form it into a round shape. The parchment paper is easy to take off after it's been fried, so tuck it in tightly.
9. Put the results of step #8 in the ball-shaped strainer, and close firmly.
10. Put the results of step #9 in a whisking machine, and make it so it does not move.
11. In oil heated to 180 degrees, stir the results of step #9 around, while frying for 2 minutes.
12. Remove the ball-shaped strainer from the whisking machine, and then remove the Schneeballen from the ball-shaped strainer. (It will be hot so please wear oven mitts.)
13. Once it has completely cooled, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
14. Enjoy decorating it with a ribbon.
15. When you eat it, you can garnish it by whisking together a mixture with a ratio of 200 ml of fresh cream for each 20g of sugar.
Note: A ball-shaped strainer with a diameter of 6.5 cm (144 cubic cm) was just the right amount for 40g of the dough. Please adjust the amount of dough in accordance to the size of the ball-shaped strainer.

100% Whole Wheat Bread - the fluffiest, softest, moistest and most tender whole wheat bread that I've ever tasted, thanks to the work of the bread machine ;)
* INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
- 1-3/4 cup (210 gr) whole wheat flour
- 2 Tbsp (20 gr) sugar
- 1 Tbsp (5 gr) dry milk powder
- 1/2 tsp (3 gr) salt
- 1 Tbsp (14 gr) butter
- 1 tsp (3 gr) instant yeast
- 20 gr chia seeds and 20 gr sesame seeds - toasted and cooled
* IMPORTANT NOTES
- The "cup" and tbsp, tsp are measured by the cup and spoons provided by Zojirushi, which are slightly different from the normal Cup and Tbsp, tsp.
- This recipe was adapted from the "Whole Wheat Bread" recipe in Zojirushi recipe book for bread machine. More precisely, I reduce the amount of whole wheat flour from 270 gram (in the book) to 210 gram. This might be because my whole wheat flour has quite high protein (13%) hence requires high hydration level. When I tried with 270 gram flour, the bread was a bit dry and tough. However, with 210 gram flour, the texture is very fluffy and moist. Please pay attention to this and feel free to adjust the amount of flour depending on the texture of your bread. If you think it's too dense, moist and heavy, add some more flour. If it's too dry, reduce the amount of flour.
- My bread machine is a Zojirushi BB-HAQ10/ BB-HAC10 (in Asia it's HAQ10, in US it's HAC 10). The normal procedure of the "regular setting" (that I used for this bread) is:
- 20 min: rest
- 14 - 19 min: kneading
- 64 min: first rising
- 20 min: stir down and second rising
- 45 - 50 min: stir down and third rising
- 37 - 50 min: baking
If your bread machine has another routine, the final bread may be different.
