What is love?
We all know this stuff. We are made from it. We can pretend we don’t know it or that it’s cheesy, but only because we have bought into the false versions of it.
No matter how much we don’t want to accept the ugliness of life, it exists. Life and to be honest, us, are not all loving—FACT. So is it really love if we pretend that ugliness does not exist and “hope” that everything will work itself out, that the world would just one day miraculously become all loving again? Love or peace/harmony cannot just be hoped into being, that would be seriously disempowering. Not calling out loveless behaviours is NOT love, it is just not wanting to see and deal with reality. And it DELAYS love to being natural again.
I was shocked to hear someone share an example of a doctor putting his finger into women patients’ private parts during an examination and told them it’s a medical massage and the women because not wanting to see truth or accept that the world is not all perfection as they hoped it would be, to avoid rocking the boat or having to stand up to voice themselves, accepted the doctor’s explanation. That is blatantly just rape, period.
Love when it’s been bastardized for such a long time would not instantly become the true version with a blink of an eye. It needs all our solidness, steadiness and consistency to walk it again on every occasion so that it becomes the natural as well as normal choice in our every day. There is no short cut, it is simple but no one said it was easy.
