Many worried that the CSSTA was the first step to the political unification with China.
服貿協議的利弊多寡見人見智，但流於形式的公聽會與部分官員欲強行通過審查的黑箱做法，引起了台灣民眾的強烈不滿。
2⃣️ clause-by-clause review 逐條審查
The ruling party tried to pass the CSSTA without clause-by-clause review.
clause 通常是「子句」的意思，在法律上則有「條款」的意思。
3⃣️ demand（遊行、抗議的）訴求
The main demand of the protest became the rejection of the CSSTA.
越來越多的學者及專家指出，服貿可能使中國更容易藉由經濟依賴、滲透及收買等手段侵害台灣主權，學運的訴求也從逐條審查，變成「退回服貿，重啟談判」。

The movement is also known as the 318 Student Movement.
這次的抗爭行動以花為名的原因之一，是為了向另一個重要的事件「野百合運動」致敬。
