🎄 Dec. 25 is my favorite day of every year. Since the beginning of my medical training, I have spent every Christmas with my family and, fortunately, never within the walls of a hospital. And while I still retain my uncontained excitement for the holiday I hold sacred, Christmas this year is tainted by feelings of fear and disappointment.

每年的 12/25 是我最喜歡的日子。從一開始接受醫療培訓，我就每年和家人過聖誕。慶幸的是，從未需要在醫院裡一起共度聖誕節。今年我還是一樣，非常興奮的期待著這個對我來說非常神聖的節日，但是今年的聖誕就不免多了一層恐懼和失望。

🏥 As a doctor in New York, I have worked in various intensive care units with patients with covid-19 beginning in March during the height of the pandemic. We watched people die despite our best efforts, in isolation, unable to see their families. And today, ICUs all over the country are flooded with sick patients with covid-19, hospitals are short on staff and cases are only continuing to rise.

我在紐約做醫生，從三月初起疫情達到巔峰時，我就開始在加護病房接觸過很多新冠患者。我們經常眼睜睜望著我們努力救治的患者在我們眼前孤單的逝去，未能再見到他們家人一件。而現在，全美的加護病房快被新冠患者淹沒。醫院人手不足而患者數量持續攀升。

😷 Yet, I still see people maskless on the subway or on crowded streets. Some are in denial, choosing to pretend that everything is normal. Others, perhaps, believe that they are invincible, but the virus does not discriminate. And I recognize that we are tired. But I’m also scared.

然而，每天還是會在地鐵上或擁擠的街上看到很多人不戴口罩。有些人拒絕相信疫情存在，選擇假裝一切正常。或許還有一些人相信自己健康無敵，但病毒才不管這個多。我知道我們都累了，但是我也很害怕。

One of the best ways we can show compassion and generosity is by keeping one another safe. Indoor holiday gatherings are high risk for spread. So while our Christmas dinner will be much smaller this year, I am grateful that my loved ones are healthy. Staying home and staying away may be the most powerful displays of love and Christmas spirit we have.

體現同理心和慷慨的最佳方式，就是確保彼此平安健康。室內聖誕活動的感染風險很高，所以雖然今年聖誕大餐的人數會少很多，但我非常感恩，我所有愛的人都是健康的。盡可能避免出門、和與他人接觸，或許就是做能夠展現愛和聖誕意義的行動。

I will never forget this Covid-19 period.
- Malaysia Movement Control Order (MCO) period starting 18.03.2020 - 14.04.2020
- Singapore Circuit Breaker period starting 07.04.2020 - 04.05.2020 (at moment or until further notice)

Today is 08.04.2020 (Wednesday)...
- 22nd day of MCO
- 2nd day of circuit breaker
- 21st day of Work From Home (WFH)

1) Petrol price is down to RM1.30 per liter.
2) Our offices throughout Malaysia will remain closed throughout the Movement Control Order period and will continue to operate fully on a work from home.
3) All schools abruptly moved online.
4) Self-distancing measures on the rise.
5) Tape on the floors at stores to help distance customers (1 metre) from each other.
6) Restaurants closed, take away only.
7) Limited number of people inside stores.
8) Non-essential stores and businesses mandated closed.
9) Entire sports seasons cancelled.
10) Concerts, tours, festivals, entertainment events - cancelled.
11) Weddings, family celebrations, holiday gatherings - cancelled
12) No masses, mosque, churches are closed.
13) No gatherings of 50 or more, then 20 or more, now 10 or less.
14) Children's outdoor play parks are closed.
15) Shortage of masks, gowns, gloves for our front-line workers.
16) Shortage of ventilators for the critically ill.
17) Panic buying sets in no disinfecting supplies, no laundry soap, no hand sanitizer.
18) Shelves are bare.
19) Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitizer and PPE.
20) Government has check points in every province and is closed to all non-essential travel.
21) Airline tickets are cheap but we can't travel.
22) Press conferences daily from Ministry of Health.
23) Daily updates on new cases, recoveries, and deaths.
24) Barely anyone on the roads.
25) People wearing masks and gloves outside.
26) Essential service workers are terrified to go to work.
27) Medical field workers are afraid to go home to their families.
28) "Flatten the curve" is a daily saying, along with "We are in this together," and "We heal as one".
29) This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, declared on March 18, 2020

Why I copied this status?

One day, it will show up in my FB memory feed, and it will be a yearly reminder that LIFE & FREEDOM are precious and not to take the things we dearly love for granted.

We have so much!

The Ueno Zoo (恩賜上野動物園 Onshi Ueno Dōbutsuen) is a 14.3-hectare (35-acre) zoo, managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and located in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan. It is Japan's oldest zoo, opening on March 20, 1882. It is a five-minute walk from the Park Exit of Ueno Station, with convenient access from Tokyo's public-transportation network. The Ueno Zoo Monorail, the first monorail in the country, connects the eastern and western parts of the grounds.

The zoo is in Ueno Park, a large urban park that is home to museums, a small amusement park, and other attractions. The zoo is closed Mondays (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday).

"Surprise Door," the First Chinese New Year Television Spot:
The NBA Chinese New Year Celebration will tip off with a star-studded television commercial featuring the Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry, the Houston Rockets' James Harden, the Los Angeles Lakers' Jeremy Lin and the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade paying a surprise visit to a Chinese family to share in the holiday festivities and watch an NBA game together.

The spot will air from Jan. 27 through March 5 across all of NBA China's television and digital partners' platforms, including NBA.com/China, mobile and social media assets. In the U.S. the spot will debut during the contest between the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors on Friday, Feb. 20 (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
