It’s about the extreme scale of time and space. If you think about it, in order for 2 independent advanced civilisations to meet, they have to be in a same zone of time.

To illustrate, the age of the universe is 13.4 billion years old, and the entire human civilisation is 200,000 years old, the chance for two independent civilisations to ever meet is at 0.00000015%. That’s just for time.

As for space, depending on where they are situated, they have to travel at the exact degree of orientation toward each other, zero margin of error, not even 0.000000001 degree off target, if not they will simply fly pass each other without ever realising the other ever existed.

On top of that, our galaxy, the Milky Way, doesn’t stay in a fixed spot, we’re moving through space all the time, and so is the other civilisation we’re trying to meet. Imagine trying to throw a dart at a moving car 1 km away? Yeah.

Just by putting these all aspects together, it’s not hard to see why it still seems like a quiet and lonely universe we live in.

It’s about the humanly-incomprehensible scale of time and space.

It’s about the perfect time and perfect space in order for us to say hello to another civilisation.

It’s not like traveling from US to China. Or China to US, depending on where you are 😉

《比Pandora 更好？》

台東的鐵花村，命名自胡適之父胡鐵花，它是一個藝術和文創的地方，只要一入夜，街道上掛滿了由孩童手繪的燈籠，映照着這條文創老街，特別浪漫！

晚上亦有樂隊演出，他們可能是不太知名的表現者，相信在這裹表現可以得到的工資亦很少，但有時夢想又那是用金錢來衡量，只要有一個聽眾在，就有站在這裹的意義！

我行過文藝的市集，在一間買飾物的小店停留，看中了一條七彩的手工手鏈，店主幫我戴上這條手鏈，此時，他看到我手上戴著Pandora 手鏈，表情有點錯愕。

店主：「你呢條係Pandora 吧，hahah, 你睇下我宜家呢條手工手鏈係咪比Pandora 更好呢？呢條手鏈係我arm arm 做，佢地每一粒都係unique，而且色彩斑爛，有十字架，有貓頭鷹，有似糖果的珠珠，係咪好靚？」

我看着他因為燒琉璃珠而變得黑黑的手，那一雙在做著手工飾品的巧手，我微笑地說：「你呢條手鏈真係好靚，Pandora 一啲都比唔上。」

我認我好港女，我鍾意Pandora 的理由好簡單，因為我鍾意晒，簡簡單單一條Pandora 都要3千至4 千蚊，可以晒下自己男友有多愛自己。這條Pandora 是我成功pass 了QP exam Module B 的禮物，我知是膚淺，我知Pandora的GP margin 成70%，這幾粒珠珠一點都不值，這些都是商家的把戲，所有我都知道，但我就是鍾意晒！

但除了晒，我這個港女，其實很喜歡手工製的飾品，我知道亦看到這條手工造手鏈有幾多瑕疵，但它的瑕疵正正是它美的地方，每一個瑕疵都有它們的故事，都有店主的故事，都有他們的夢想。

文創，手工品，都不能令你賺大錢，但當我看到店主的表情，我知他在為他的工作感到驕傲，到現在我還記得他堅定又從容的跟我說：「我呢條鏈係咪靚過Pandora好多呢？」是，這條手鏈比Pandora 美很多，因為我在你眼中看到驕傲，看到夢想，看到執着，看到堅定和堅持！

你呢？你有為你的工作感到驕傲嗎？

台東是一個很美很美的地方，台東人都很純樸，他們有他們的執着和堅持，他們亦有追求自己所想的勇氣！如果有機會，推介你們去台東走一走！

The Philadelphia 76ers enjoyed a great March, and it got them in the playoffs.

Allen Iverson scored 14 of his 42 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the 76ers clinched their fifth straight playoff berth by beating the Orlando Magic 118-113 Monday night.

"It's such a huge win for us,'' Philadelphia coach Larry Brown said. "It caps off a big month for us where we had 12 road games and four home games and ended up going 11-5, which is pretty special.''

Added Iverson: "It's good to know we're in (the playoffs) because the East is so crazy. You lose a couple of games here or there, and you go from in to out.''

The 76ers won for the fourth time in five games, and for the fourth straight time on the road, to move a game ahead of idle Indiana for third place in the East. Philadelphia also kept pace 1{ games behind New Jersey for the Atlantic Division lead. The Nets beat Houston 110-86 Monday.

Kenny Thomas had 24 points and 20 rebounds for his fifth double-double in the last six games, while Derrick Coleman added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Philadelphia had a 61-38 advantage on the boards, including a 24-12 margin in the final quarter and overtime.

"The Magic spread out and have a lot of people on the perimeter, so if they miss you should have a good chance to get the rebound,'' Brown said.

That's exactly what happened, as Orlando shot 29 percent (8-for-28) on 3-pointers.

"You look at the numbers and they're staggering,'' Orlando coach Doc Rivers said. "We held a team to 43 percent shooting with 26 offensive rebounds, so what it tells you is that you played great defense initially but you kept giving them the ball back and they kept scoring.''

For Orlando, Tracy McGrady had 39 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, and Steven Hunter came off the bench for a season-high 15 points, plus seven rebounds and five blocks -- both career bests.

Gordan Giricek scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half for Orlando, while reserves Darrell Armstrong and Pat Garrity both added 13 points. The Magic bench had a 44-8 edge over Philadelphia's.

Orlando's primary centers, Shawn Kemp and Andrew DeClercq, combined for two points and one rebound in 19 minutes.

"I love our big men to death, but we've got to do something,'' McGrady said. "We can't allow a team to outrebound us by 23.''

Eric Snow had a putback dunk to open overtime, but McGrady countered with a free throw and turnaround jumper to give Orlando a 113-112 lead with 3:22 to go.

Iverson then hit two jumpers and Snow had two free throws as Philadelphia scored the last six points of the game. Orlando shot 1-for-6 in overtime, and 10-for-30 after the third quarter.

"I told our guys in the locker room that we just played playoff basketball -- and we didn't pass the first test,'' Rivers said.

The Magic have lost all four of their overtime games this season.

Philadelphia trailed 107-97 with 3:31 remaining following McGrady's three-point play -- Orlando's fifth of the final period.

But Coleman hit a jumper and 3-pointer on consecutive possessions, kicking off a game-tying 13-3 run. Snow's jumper with 32.9 seconds to go tied the game at 110. Snow had 16 points despite shooting 3-for-11.

Both teams missed opportunities to win in the closing seconds of regulation. On the final three possessions, McGrady missed a short runner, Thomas had Iverson's pass squirt through his hands and Jeryl Sasser missed a floater as time expired.

Sasser, a 32-percent shooter, wasn't supposed to have the ball but Philadelphia's defense did an excellent job of denial on McGrady. And with 1:12 left to play, the 76ers forced Orlando into a backcourt violation on another inbounds play.

"It's a dilemma and something we have to solve,'' Rivers said.

Game notes

Philadelphia center Samuel Dalembert has had consecutive practices with contact but there's no indication when he'll return, coach Larry Brown said. Dalembert has missed the entire season following left knee surgery in October. ... The last season the 76ers did not make the playoffs was 1997-98, Brown's first year in Philadelphia and Iverson's second. ... The 76ers lead the NBA in steals, with 10.18 per game. Against Orlando, they had nine. ... The game was a sellout, Orlando's fifth of the season.

【ミニ・アメリカンドッグ】

＜材料＞
・魚肉ソーセージ　2本
（またはウインナー　5～6本）

A. ホットケーキミックス 100g
A. 牛乳　80cc
A. マヨネーズ大1

＜作り方＞
1.魚肉ソーセージまたはウインナーは、2cm幅ぐらいにカット。
2.A.を混ぜあわせる。
3.①を爪楊枝で刺し、②を回すようにして付けて揚げる。

【タンドリーチキン】

＜材料＞
・鶏肉（胸でもモモでも）　１～2枚
・塩、胡椒　適量

A.ヨーグルト　大５
A.ケチャップ　大２
A.醤油　大１
A.はちみつ　大１
A.カレー粉　大１
A.ターメリック　小１
A.塩小1/2
A.黒胡椒適量
（あればパプリカパウダー、クミン、ガラムマサラなどお好みのスパイス）

＜作り方＞
1．鶏肉は塩コショウをし、皮目にフォークで数か所穴をあけ1口大にカットする
2.ビニール袋に鶏肉とAを入れ、空気を抜いて閉じる
3.よく揉んで1日以上漬ける

After ripping his team for having no heart,
Allen Iverson showed they still have a pulse.

Iverson played one of his better offensive games of the season
Thursday night, scoring 39 points to lead the struggling
Philadelphia 76ers past the weary and depleted Los Angeles Lakers
96-73.

In a game that stayed competitive for only a few minutes,
Iverson had his way against defender Derek Fisher and repeatedly
freed himself for mid-range jumpers and drives.

Iverson shot 15-for-29 from the field -- missing his final four
shots -- and added six assists in one of the 76ers' most lopsided
victories of the season and the Lakers' largest margin of defeat.

"I tried to make sure I led by example," Iverson said. "I saw
guys were trying to get things done the right way."

The Lakers, playing their fourth road game in five nights and
extra tired after arriving in Philadelphia around 4 a.m., lost Gary
Payton to an ejection in a first quarter in which they scored just
10 points -- matching their season low set earlier this week at
Indiana.

Shaquille O'Neal missed 11 of 13 foul shots in the first half,
finishing 3-for-15 from the line with 17 points.

"We just had dead legs tonight. It was just obvious we didn't
have any zip out there at all," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said.
"This is not a low point. They're not depressed about it. They
just had a bad game. Shaq couldn't make any free throws, they lose
Gary ...

"We're not going into the woods to fight a bear with a switch.
That wasn't going to happen out there tonight."

The Lakers were supposed to be joined by Kobe Bryant, who is on
the injured list with a lacerated finger. But Bryant defied coach
Jackson and did not show up, leaving the team wondering about his
whereabouts until shortly before gametime.

Bryant's agent told the Lakers that Bryant would join them in
Orlando on the fifth stop of their seven-game road trip.

Glenn Robinson added 26 points for the 76ers, who were ripped by
Iverson two nights ago following a loss to Toronto -- their ninth in
11 games.

"We don't play with no heart, we don't take a challenge,"
Iverson said during a 10-minute rant. "Guys don't take pride and
compete."

After shooting off his mouth, it became clear early that Iverson
might be capable of shooting the Sixers out of their slump.

He scored six points over the final 1:05 of the first quarter to
help Philadelphia to a 25-10 lead.

"I hope it didn't take that," Iverson said of his public
outburst. "If it did, I'm happy that it worked. Guys came out and
played hard.

"I haven't seen that energetic flavor from us in a while."

The opening 12 minutes featured the quick ejection of Payton by
referee Joey Crawford for arguing while Iverson shot free throws.

Payton did not comment after the game, nor did O'Neal.

"I'm not going to talk about it. It's too irritating to talk
about it," Jackson said of Payton's ejection.

The Sixers led 44-29 at halftime behind 20 points from Iverson,
and he reached 30 points with 3:35 left in the third quarter by
losing Fisher with a crossover dribble and hitting a 21-footer.
Samuel Dalembert followed with a dunk off a pass from Robinson to
give Philadelphia a 71-44 lead.

Iverson sat down for good with 4:02 remaining and the 76ers
ahead 89-66.
