Fresh new haircuts…oh well, it’s not really a cut, but more like a trim! Fatimah and Ali both had their last trim somewhere last year during the lockdown by their Lalajee @theomarmukhtar. Yes, they are both beyond blessed to have a big brother who is super talented and good at multitasking - bless him!

But this year, we’ve been extremely busy with the reno work at #TheOldForgeCottage 🏡 since the beginning of the year plus the extended lockdown, hence their hair has been left overgrown ever since. They both have been waiting since last year for their Dadijee (grandma) to come over to give them a haircut but since the pandemic they have been kept waiting and waiting and still no luck till now. 😢💔 But luckily someone came to the rescue to give them a haircut and heal their broken hearts - all thanks to @drauntie.uk for the trim!

May these little things that we do for our children stamp not only good memories for them but also add on love and affection. Hopefully one day they will look back and see how much love they had growing up in our home…

This is our little family tradition. Most of the time we will cut our children’s hair at home. Unless it’s a more complicated cut or to change the hairstyle only then will we go to the salon. Even my sisters and I, we still look forward to have our hair trimmed by our mother even until now. It’s always one of the things that I look forward to every year whenever my mother comes over to visit - to get her magic touch on my hair even if it’s just only a lil’ trim - priceless!! 🥰

And now I am even more blessed that I have not only my husband - Mr Dad - who always helped to cut my hair especially when I’m not well and unable to go out of the house…but now I also have my eldest son @theomarmukhtar who will happily give me a trim and also my sister @drauntie.uk who just gave me a trim yesterday. May Allah bless you all for taking care of me…

She was my director on my upcoming film Reminiscence and was such a pleasure to work with. She recently started roar4ray.org and has partnered with www.bethematch.org to get people of color to join the registry. This is very important because people of color are the hardest to find matches because our community simply isn’t informed enough to know about these issues. Multiracial people have it was worse with the chances of finding a match somewhere around %2. This problem can be fixed by just getting more people to get on the registry to be a possible donor and possibly saving a child’s life. Being multitasking is no doubt tiring. Very! I’d say. But It’s always tempting to try to do more than one thing at a time. Haha! (Well, life heh, every decision you made makes you.) It’s not easy and obviously it takes time to make the climb, but I guess it is those clouds on my head that keep me inspired/motivated while stepping every inch hard on the ground. To host for my radio and tv shows daily, to deliver my clients’ jobs professionally, to carry @otherwisecafe on me, to eat sensibly and to live healthily, to sleep sufficiently and to act fearlessly, to spend time with my interests, friends and family… switching between many tabs trying to fit it all roles the best I could and too like you do, I roll myself in the blanket and self-talk negatively when pains, failure and incessant pressure strikes. (p/s: IKR, especially now when the pandemic drags on, it’s taking heavy toll on our moods, lives and strives.)

However, these can never stop me from running around the clock.
Cos I know dreams don’t work unless I do, ain’t no giving in nor up!
.
Truth is, friends usually name me the “BUSY”;
Next time, try label me a “G-SHOCK” instead.
Tough enough to run with time; Flexible enough to fit in. 🤓
… Guess I’ll be still learning to cope alongside the clock/watch ticks.
