"CPS told me when I was 14 "Getting punished for doing something wrong is not abuse". No one talked to me, no one asked me questions, no one did anything except call my abuser to come get me. That lady didn't even look me in the face when she said it, just offhandedly said it while filling out paperwork. They also told my abuser (because I was working after school) that having all that money was bad for me so I was forced to keep working and my paychecks went to straight from the company to my abuser's bank account. When you're a minor, they can do that.
Side note: there was a little boy at the same halfway house that another girl told me she sees often (which means she was there often also) and no matter how battered his face was he was always sent back to his father. Fuck you texas."
