配合指揮中心宣布防疫警戒降為二級，本校調整各項防疫措施如下：

1.7月27日起上午7時至下午7時校園進出口增至七處，夜間則維持三處進出口。校內各館舍管制維持目前三級管制方式。

2.暑期校方辦理課程維持遠距離，如果院系有些課程，需要實體實施，請跟教務處申請；教室內只允許50人以下上課；校屬教學大樓空間暫時維持不外借。

3.強烈建議社團仍以辦理線上活動為主；在防疫相關規範下，於7/27~8/9期間，有條件開放室內50人、室外100人以下之實體活動（體育性活動限制室內20人、室外40人以下）；音樂性社團如無法全程配戴口罩，則不開放辦理活動；其餘體育性及旅遊性活動，因易有肢體碰觸或無法全程配戴口罩(住宿)，將輔導社團嚴格遵守防疫政策，如降低活動人數、住宿一人一室等。

7.圖書館配合措施如下：
(1) 8月2日上午8時起恢復開放讀者入館，7月27～30日期間，仍維持現行閉館窗口服務及開放時間。
(2)全館各樓層開放(含自習室)，開放時間調整為週一至週五8-17時，週六、週日不開放。
(3)閱覽區及自習室一律採梅花座，總圖書館一至五樓閱覽區容留人數上限為400人，自習室容留人數上限為394人。

11.自7月27日起各單位居家辦公人數調整為不超過單位總人數之二分之一為原則，居家辦公者須完成網路電話設定，維持辦公室聯絡無中斷。此外，居家辦公人員採1小時彈性上下班時間（上班08：00至09：00、下班17：00至18：00）規定。

According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), the current alert level will be lowered to Level 2 starting July 27. In response to this, the University is asking all of you to fully comply with the newly adjusted measures as follows.

1.Starting July 27, the Main Campus will be accessed via the current three to seven gates, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The campus can only be accessed in the evenings through the three gates. Level 3 access control will continue to be implemented to all university premises.

2.Summer courses will continue to be taught remotely. If necessary, applications for in-person classes may be filed with the Office of Academic Affairs. To this end, each in-person class should accommodate no more than 50 people. Rental of the University’s lecture buildings remains unavailable.

3. Club events are strongly advised to be held online. In compliance with the regulations during the lowered alert level period (July 27-August 9), in-person events with no more than 50 people indoors or 100 people outdoors may be held (the number is reduced to 20 people indoors and 40 people outdoors for sports events). In-person music club events should not be held if the mask-wearing mandate cannot be enforced. For other types of sports and leisurely events where physical contact cannot be avoided or masks cannot be worn at all times (e.g. accommodation), the organizing clubs will be instructed to strictly abide by preventive measures such as reducing the number of participants and following the one person per room policy.

4. The Student Activity Center will reopen student club offices and open rental of its spaces. However, the food and beverage club will remain closed before resumption of dining-in is announced by the Taipei City Government.

5. The Student Counseling Center (including the Disability Support Services) will resume counseling services and reservation as of the day of the lowered alert level. Click the following for more information

7. Preventive measures at the NTU Library are as follows:
1) The library will reopen to the general public beginning 8 a.m. August 2. From July 27 to 30, it will remain closed and only the circulation service is available.

2) All floors will reopen (including the B1 study rooms). The opening hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Mon. through Fri. The library is closed on weekends.

3) Criss-cross seating will be implemented in the reading areas and study rooms. The library may accommodate up to 400 people in its reading areas (1st to 5th floors). The reading rooms may accommodate up to 394 people. Click the following for more information

8. The Athletic Department will reopen the outdoor Sports Field, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and volleyball courts. Indoor ball courts and the fitness center at the NTU Sports Center and the old Sports Center will be reopened to all members of the NTU community. Please wear a mask at all times when you play sports. Clustering in these locations is strictly forbidden. For more information, please contact the Athletic Department or refer to terms of use at every venue.

9.On-campus food locations provide take-outs only; off-campus restaurants will follow the announcements by the Taipei City Government. Talks with the food providers on resuming operation is still ongoing.

10. The current method for delivering official documents will continue.

11. Starting July 27, not more than ½ of all the staff in a given academic/administrative office should work from home. Those that do should have their internet phone set up and abide by the one-hour flextime (clock in 8-9 a.m.; clock out 5-6 p.m.).

💞有人說：「只有當你有了自己的孩子，你才會真正了解父母的愛。」我的日籍母親和美籍父親為我們家三姊妹犧牲許多，但直到我有了自己的孩子，我才真正體會父母的犧牲奉獻。當我們離開日本時，我們對加州的一切感到新奇又困惑，同時也極力想要融入新的校園生活。我的母親每天都會幫我準備漂亮的便當帶去學校，但我都會求她改做花生果醬三明治，因為同學都會說我們「很奇怪」。家母理解我們的感受，也暫時放下了她自己的文化偏好。自此之後，我們開始吃牛奶麥片當早餐，而不是味噌湯，午餐則是花生果醬三明治。

但母親也總是告訴我們，別人覺得「奇怪」的地方，正是我們之所以獨特的原因：我們承襲了兩種文化，能說兩種語言，我們在童年看過的世界可能比許多人一輩子看到的還多。當其他小孩對我們不友善，或是取笑母親的口音時，母親告訴我們，他們會這麼做是因為害怕或無知，人們天生會恐懼新事物，但絕不能無知，因為每個人都有能力透過教育和學習來獲取知識。家父雖然出生於美國，但有時候在美國也覺得格格不入。家父年輕時本著冒險犯難的精神加入美國海軍，也擺脫了小鎮思維的侷限。當我收養女兒的那天，我把她抱在懷裡，心想現在的世界終於比較友善，有愈來愈多人覺得外國口音很有趣，而且帶便當盒是件很酷的事情。但我知道，作為一個亞裔女孩，在這個紛紛擾擾的世界也有她自己要面對的、不同的挑戰。我希望能夠盡我所能保護她，但我知道我能為她做的，就是讓她摒除無知的迷惑，擁抱生命的奇遇和燦爛。-- AIT文化新聞組組長蘇戴娜

💞Some say that “only when you have your own children can you truly understand the love of your parents.” My Japanese mother and American father made many sacrifices for me and my two sisters that I never fully appreciated until I had my own child. When we left Japan, we were confused by California but felt desperate to fit in at our new school. My mother made beautiful bento boxes for our lunches, but we begged her for peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches because kids called us “weird.” My mother understood and put aside her own cultural preferences. We started eating cold cereal instead of miso soup for breakfast, and yes – peanut butter for lunch.

But she always told us that what other people called “weird” is what made us so special: that we benefited from two cultures; that we could speak two languages; that we had seen more of the world as children than many people see in their whole lives. When kids were unkind to us or made fun of my mother’s accent, she told us that they did it because they were afraid, or ignorant. Fear of new things, she said, was natural. But ignorance was unacceptable-it was a condition each person had the power to cure through learning. My father was born in the U.S. but sometimes felt like a stranger. He joined the U.S. Navy at a young age to seek adventure and escape the limits of small-town thinking. When I held my own daughter in my arms on the day I adopted her, I was happy that we now live in a world where foreign accents are interesting and bento boxes are cool. But I know she faces her own, different challenges as an Asian girl growing up in a confusing world. I want to protect her from everything. 「Hand」や「Arm」を使った英語の慣用句

日本語でも「手が空く」や「手も足も出ない」、「腕に覚えがある」など、手や腕を使った表現がたくさんありますが、英語でもそれらを使った慣用句が日常会話の中でとてもよく使われています。今回は、その中から4つの表現をご紹介します。

1) Know like the back of one's hand
→「〜をよく知っている」

この表現の直訳は「自分の手の甲のように知っている」です。人間はみんな自分の手の甲を毎日何度も見て、手の甲に関しては誰よりも本人が一番熟知していると考えられていることから、Know it like the back of my handは、あることについて知り尽くしているときに使う表現になります。パソコンや技術的なことはもちろん、ある場所について詳しかったり、家族や友人の性格を深く理解していたりなど、様々な状況で使える表現です。

2) Live from hand to mouth
→「その日暮らしをする、かつかつの生活を送る」

Hand to mouthは「手から口」を意味し、この表現の由来は１６世紀のイギリスと言われています。当時はひどい食糧不足であり、多くの人が飢えていました。食べ物が手に入った途端、口に入れなければ他の人に取られる恐れがあり、手にした食べ物をそのまま口へ持っていき生き延びていたそうです。こうして、live from hand to mouthは「その日暮らしの・一時しのぎの」人生を送ると言う意味で使われるようになりました。
　
✔自転車操業を意味するhand-to-mouth operationという似た言い回しがある。

When I first started as freelance, I had to live hand-to-mouth.

3) Lose one's touch
→「下手になる」

１９世紀にイギリスで使われ始めたこの表現は、「前ほど上手にできなくなった」、「以前の特技を失う」と言う意味です。「下手になった」場合にも使えますが、基本的には「得意だったのに、レベルが落ちた」ことを表します。スポーツで練習をサボって腕が鈍った時や、子供が言うことを聞かなくなった時、ビジネスの場などで「勘」を失った時にも使えます。
　
✔Have the touch/Have got the touchは「才能がある」を意味する。
　
✔Loseとtouchの間にyourやmyなどを入れないと、「（人と）連絡を取らなくなった」の意味になるので、ご注意を。
　
＜例文＞
　
My kids don’t listen to me anymore. I think I’ve lost my touch.
（子供たちが全く言うこと聞かなくなったよ。なんだか、腕が鈍ったかなぁ。）

4) Twist one's arm
→「人に何かを強制的にさせる」

この表現を直訳すると「腕をひねる」になり、人に何かを強制的にさせる状況で使われます。家事を手伝わない夫に無理やりやらせたり、おもちゃを片付けない子供に強制的に片付けさせたり、無理に友達を一緒にカラオケに連れ出したりなど様々な場面で使えます。

また、アメリカでは、喜んでやるのに、「もうしょうがないなぁ」というような皮肉な冗談交じりで使う場合もあります。例えば、お酒が大好きな人が、「もっと飲む？」と聞かれた場合 「If you twist my arm. (そんなに言うなら、もう一杯！)」と冗談交じりで答えたりします。

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 x Resident Evil

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an upcoming online action role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The sequel to Tom Clancy's The Division, the game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 15, 2019.

Played from a third-person perspective, the game takes place in Washington D.C. seven months after its predecessor, in which a civil war between survivors and villainous bands of marauders breaks out. In the game, players can cooperate with each other to complete objectives. The game will also feature raids, which can be completed by up to eight players.

The events of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 take place in the summer of Washington D.C., 7 months after the events of the Dollar Flu, which took place in the winter in New York City. The virus has now spread to Washington D.C. During the initial phase of the crisis, important personnel such as POTUS, Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff and other important politicians were being evacuated. The chaos of the virus began with attacks on the Pentagon, The National Mall and other landmarks. Riots followed the day after and the security forces were hit, forcing them to evacuate the capital. The dense heatwave added to more problems. The supply lines were cutoff; after a few days survivors developed communities and many of them were armed, while the criminals have developed their own factions and raid these communities for supply and control. Factions like the True Sons, a group of paramilitary warlords bent on dominating their enemies and expanding their territory around Washington D.C. These militants are led by a former JTF officer Antwon Ridgeway who, along with those that follow him, are a force to be reckoned with. Because of this, Directive 51 has been activated in Washington D.C. and thus activates a unit of Division agents who launch a joint operation with the Civilian Militia in Washington D.C. in order to recapture the capital.

Washington D.C. has been recreated to be as authentic as possible complete with well-known landmarks and buildings. Despite possible controversy, Ubisoft has stated that the choice of location was not one of politics despite the fact the chosen location is the nation's capital. Combat will be similar to the original game, with a few new features which includes new skills and new weapons. Players who help the citizens in D.C. may find some willing to take up arms and join the battle (part of the Settlements feature).

Watch Dogs: Legion is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective, and takes place within an open world setting based upon London, which can be explored either on foot - utilizing parkour moves - vehicles, or fast-travelling via the city's Underground stations. The game is composed of several missions, including those that progress the main story, liberation missions aimed at freeing the city's boroughs featured in the setting, recruitment missions for new playable characters, and various side-activities, with players able to freely pursue a mission or activity, or explore the city for secrets and collectibles. Each mission's objectives can be handled via one or several different approaches: an open-combat approach utilizing a variety of weapons; a stealth approach utilizing the environment to avoid detection and monitoring enemy patterns; or a hacking approach using any hackable object to subdue enemies with traps or distractions, while seeking out objectives via cameras and remotely accessing them. Combat includes a mixture of gun fights - involving lethal and non-lethal fire-arms - and hand-to-hand combat moves, with enemies making use of different methods depending on how the player acts against them in combat (i.e. a guard hit with a punch will use melee attacks). Players can be pursued by enemies when escaping, including hostile drones, but can lose them by utilizing hack-able environmental objects (i.e. vents) and avoiding line of sight with pursuers.

Unlike previous games in the series, Legion features the ability to use multiple characters during a playthrough, each of whom can be recruited from around the game's setting. While the player must choose a character to begin with after the story's prologue chapter, others may be recruited upon completing the initial story missions of the game from anywhere around the game's setting, which can also include those working for hostile factions. Those recruited become operatives that the player can freely switch to at any time, as well as customize with different clothing options, with each recruit-able character maintaining their own lifestyle and occupation when not active (i.e. spending time drinking at a pub). Each character that can be recruited have different traits and skills, based upon their background - a spy operative has access to a silenced pistol and can summon a special spy vehicle to travel around with, armed with rockets; a hooligan operative can summon in friends to help in a fist-fight; a builder operative can make use of large drones for heavy-lifting and a nail-gun for combat; while an "adrenaline junkie" operative can deal more damage, but risk the possibility of being knocked out/dying at any random moments. Operatives can gain experience when used by the player, which allows them to gain additional skills and abilities to improve them, with the player able to provide additional upgrades for all character by spending "tech points" - a collectible scattered around the city, which can be spent on weapon and gadget upgrades.

All potential recruits have an additional statistic, which details whether they can be recruited when approached - their thoughts on DedSec. Some recruits may not join if either they favour those that oppose them (such as a hostile faction), if the player has a character in their roster whom they hate or if DedSec did something to harm another NPC they have good relations with. If a recruit can be brought in, players will be required to complete a mission from them related to a problem they need resolving. An example of such a mission would be helping someone determine why they are being constantly spied on more frequently of late working as a vigilante in shutting down a criminal operation they seek to disrupt. Any character that can be recruited, can be killed during a playthrough by criminal gangs or law enforcement, and thus be permanently removed from the player's roster of playable characters, provided the player has the permadeath option enabled; if not, the character is merely arrested, and can be simply rescued by another operative. If the player loses all their characters from death or arrest, the game ends.

The online component of the game would be introduced through a free post-launch update in December 2020. Players can also join a team of up to four players in cooperative gameplay, sharing progression between single-player and multiplayer modes. They can also access Tactical Ops, which are co-operative missions designed for 4 players, or simply explore London together. The asymmetrical multiplayer mode Invasion would also return. The game also features a competitive multiplayer mode named "Spiderbot Arena" in which players assumes control of a gadget named spiderbot and compete against each other in free for all matches.

Each character that can be recruited have different traits and skills, based upon their background - a spy operative has access to a silenced pistol and can summon a special spy vehicle to travel around with, armed with rockets; a hooligan operative can summon in friends to help in a fist-fight; a builder operative can make use of large drones for heavy-lifting and a nail-gun for combat; while an "adrenaline junkie" operative can deal more damage, but risk the possibility of being knocked out/dying at any random moments. Operatives can gain experience when used by the player, which allows them to gain additional skills and abilities to improve them, with the player able to provide additional upgrades for all character by spending "tech points" - a collectible scattered around the city, which can be spent on weapon and gadget upgrades.

All potential recruits have an additional statistic, which details whether they can be recruited when approached - their thoughts on DedSec. Some recruits may not join if either they favour those that oppose them (such as a hostile faction), if the player has a character in their roster whom they hate or if DedSec did something to harm another NPC they have good relations with. If a recruit can be brought in, players will be required to complete a mission from them related to a problem they need resolving. An example of such a mission would be helping someone determine why they are being constantly spied on more frequently of late working as a vigilante in shutting down a criminal operation they seek to disrupt. Any character that can be recruited, can be killed during a playthrough by criminal gangs or law enforcement, and thus be permanently removed from the player's roster of playable characters, provided the player has the permadeath option enabled; if not, the character is merely arrested, and can be simply rescued by another operative. If the player loses all their characters from death or arrest, the game ends.

The online component of the game would be introduced through a free post-launch update in December 2020. Players can also join a team of up to four players in cooperative gameplay, sharing progression between single-player and multiplayer modes. They can also access Tactical Ops, which are co-operative missions designed for 4 players, or simply explore London together. The asymmetrical multiplayer mode Invasion would also return. The game also features a competitive multiplayer mode named "Spiderbot Arena" in which players assumes control of a gadget named spiderbot and compete against each other in free for all matches.
