God Inside You

“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Take a moment now to close your eyes and place a hand on your chest to feel the heart beating.

Be conscious of how this mortal body is the house of the omnipotent, omnipresent Holy Spirit.

Somewhere inside you, the Spirit of God sits enthroned, and His life-giving power flows inside you like mighty rivers.

“Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink! He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.” (John‬ ‭7:37-39‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

In the past, men and women had to go the well to draw water for drinking.

There is a thirst for natural water, but the spirit also thirsts for God.

We were all created with a longing for eternity in our hearts.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

What we actually desire is eternal life, with the quality of life that God Himself lives by: total shalom peace. Just that many people cannot put a description to that deep longing they feel inside.

“Being asked by the Pharisees when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom doesn’t come with observation; neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”” (Luke‬ ‭17:20-21‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

While man builds his kingdom with buildings and structures made of stones, metals, wood, and inanimate things, God builds His kingdom in His people.

Each believer is a living stone that makes up the ever-growing temple of God that rises to Heaven.

So much power, wisdom, and life is flowing inside your spirit. Read God’s word to know and believe what belongs to you in Christ. Just reach in and draw some out in Jesus’ name. Let the power that raised Jesus from the dead also affect your body and every part of your life!

Light in your Whole Body

““No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”” (Luke‬ ‭11:33-36‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Your eyes are like lamps and your body is like a room.

In a modern context, imagine that your eyes are like a ceiling light that you can switch on.

When you watch, read, and look at good things, you are allowing light to fill your body.

On the other hand, when you keep focusing on negative materials that produce fear, stress, worry, or any such thing, your body will be full of darkness.

The effect of such things is that you will feel lethargic, depressed, weak, and even experience mental or physical ailments (such as headaches).

When your body is filled with darkness, it means that you will experience death related effects like sickness, aging, ugliness, and even physical death.

The flip side is also true: if you focus on good things, like on God’s word and on Jesus, you will experience the benefits of light in your body: healing, health, youth renewal, added beauty, and long life.

If you want to stop physical aging in its tracks, you must receive a daily infusion of life. Feed on God’s word every day—even a little bit is good. Meditate on a piece of Scripture and ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding to it. Ask Him to show you revelations about Jesus in the Word, and you will be transformed as you behold Him.

“My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.” (Proverbs‬ ‭4:20-23‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

God’s word is light and life to your whole body. What you receive through your eyes and ears will reach your heart if you accept it. Guard your heart—it contains your belief system, which affects what you do and experience in life.

The Way to Good Success

“This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” (Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Early on in my journey as a believer, the Holy Spirit gave me a revelation from the verse above.

As I was reading it, He showed me that good success is a type of success that bring good to all areas of your life without any negative side effects.

For example, if you are single-minded in pursuing wealth, you will end up fatigued, unhealthy, age quickly, and miss out on important moments with family. This type of financial success is not considered “good success” because you gain in one area but lose greatly in other areas.

“For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come. This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance.” (1 Timothy‬ ‭4:8-9‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Receiving God’s word (specifically what is applicable for us under the New Covenant of Grace”) everyday has value in all things. It benefits you in the life now, and in the eternal age that is to come.

If you want good success, then you must meditate on God’s word and apply it in your life. This is the best use of your time because with one action, you cause all areas of your life to prosper and become fruitful.

The process is not complete without speaking forth the Word. The best would be if you can pray in tongues. Faith is believing and speaking so meditate and pray.

Instead of using a watering can to water one plant at a time, it is like you are pouring into an irrigation system that diverts the water to reach the whole garden!

“There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is heavy on men: a man to whom God gives riches, wealth, and honor, so that he lacks nothing for his soul of all that he desires, yet God gives him no power to eat of it, but an alien eats it. This is vanity, and it is an evil disease.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭6:1-2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

I pray that you be wise so that you have the power to enjoy every good thing in your life. By ensuring that the garden of your life is well-watered with God’s word, you will possess the grace to eat the fruits from the harvest!

It’s always difficult to navigate and talk about something as sensitive as buying vs adopting and everything surrounding the breeding and raising of dogs because it is something that a lot of people feel understandably strongly about. I hope y’all know I have absolutely no intention of promoting unethical behaviour in this industry, and I do not condemn or blame anyone for not adopting. Everyone can make their own choices and it’s not my sole responsibility to educate or enforce anything ok I’m just sharing my story!

the good old days

Last night, Fatimah had an anxiety attack ‪at 4am‬. At first, I thought she was just having a bad dream, so I told her to go back to sleep. She was quiet for a while, refusing to talk. But a few minutes later, she started to hyperventilate. Only then did I realise there was something wrong with her. The very first thing that I did was calm myself down, because if I panic, she will get worse. So I pulled myself together and told her to calm down. She started crying...

She then said, "I want Mamajee! I’m scared! Kakak Athisha is leaving and she won’t come back like Mamajee."
.
At that point, I understood that the cause of her anxiety attack was because Athisha was going back to Malaysia for the Christmas holidays. So now, I realise that separation seems to trigger her anxiety. She couldn’t make it to school, refused to have breakfast and she was crying on and off for a few hours. But luckily, we had some leftover lasagna - her favourite - so we finally managed to convince her to eat. After lunch, Mr Dad took her out shopping for a bit of fresh air. Alhamdulillah, she looks a lot better now and she said that she’s going back to school.

I’m sharing this to reach out to other parents out there. Anxiety is real. Anxiety exists. Not only in adults, but children too. Anxiety is not a sign of weakness. Anxiety is not attention-seeking. Anxiety is a common part of the grieving process. Please do not neglect your children’s emotional wellbeing. If you too are going through a similar experience, please know that you are not alone. Hang in there. Be strong. And if things get worse, please seek professional help.
