2020 has been the best year for me to date. Of course, I would say this every single year because I believe in a positive mindset but this year, it is truly life-changing!

Last month, I resigned from my job of 3 years. Not kidding, but it took me one year to finally draft the resignation letter. Many don’t know but I’ve been working from the age of 18 - YES, I started working right after my high school and continued to work throughout my college years; I’ve always believed in working hard to build a life for myself without being dependent on anyone. I am many things but being independent is what I do the best. This year, I thought I should take a break and relax for a bit. That is quite an adventurous move but I know I had to do what I did because there are amazing things waiting for me to explore.

One thing that came into my attention is how almost everyone I share this with got the same comment/question to share; "Wow, that’s a bold move", "Aren’t you afraid of the economic situation right now ?", "You got a new job?" etc.

That is when it hit me.

We are so afraid of taking the leap of faith that we would rather stay in the place where we are certainly not happy. I understand, there could be a lot of reason why one chooses to stay in a toxic situation - I’ve done that many times so I am not here to judge but as someone who is truly concern about mental health, I just want to say that most of the things we thrive for, would mean nothing when we are no longer breathing so what are we really burning ourselves out for?

Life is an adventure - but you’ll miss the best moments if you are afraid to walk out of your comfort zone. This applies to every aspect of your life; career, relationship, friendship, etc. Let go of your fear and believe that you can make the best out of anything, as long you are truly happy from inside.

I love working and the money I get from it ensures I live a comfortable life but it was literally sucking the life out of me and I can’t afford losing myself for a temporary comfortable life. I was and still am afraid but I know that I am a fighter, and nothing can bring me down.

I know you are a fighter too 💕
