Sonambiente Berlin Txl is a music festival featuring mostly sound art. The last two were held in 1996 and 2006. This year’s festival will be held in Tegel Airport in Berlin, as a farewell to the airport.

Tegel Airport was opened in 1974 and was a legendary and historic airport after World War 2 since it was the bridge connecting West Berlin and West Germany, witnessing many major events in the history of modern Germany. Sadly, it was officially closed at the end of 2020 because of the outmoded facilities. The airport was surrounded by the sounds of aircraft engines in the past. Therefore, in the homage to this incredible airport, sound art is used to present these unique sounds from the sky. Huang Hsin-Chien has also worked with Laurie Anderson to create the VR work “To the Moon”! Check out the website and catch the last flight from the Tegel Airport now!

於德國柏林舉辦的Sonambiente Berlin Txl 是以聲音藝術作為主要展出的音樂節，過去兩屆在1996年與2006年展出，今年則進入第三屆，選在柏林泰格爾機場展出，作為對泰格爾機場的最後告別。

柏林泰格爾機場自1974年啟用，因設施陳舊於2020年底正式關閉，該處曾是二戰後的傳奇機場，在當時是聯絡西柏林與西德的「空中橋樑」，也是承載了眾多德國近代歷史的傳奇機場！

過去充斥著飛機引擎聲，而現在用藝術來表現這「機場的聲音」，展出聲音作品、以及黃心健與和Laurie Anderson 共同創作的VR作品《登月》！進到官方網站，一起在雲端搭上由泰格爾機場起飛的最後一班班機吧！

This sky-high ladder acts as a 'bridge' between two Austrian mountains 😱

✨"Star Collectors," acrylic & colored pencil on paper, 48"x48", 2021 (NFS).

I started this huge painting about 2-3 years ago and am now finally finished with it. I worked with the most graciously patient collector on this project to bring this narrative to life. The painting tells the story of two maidens who travel across different galaxies collecting lost or fallen stars. These "star collectors" spend their lifetimes gathering up displaced celestial objects and rehoming them back into the sky.

Limited edition prints of this will be tentatively available later in the year.

変わり続ける町の景色
変わらずに巡ってく四季

On festival nights, the two of us were always too excited

We talked a lot while listening to the clamor in the distance
My throbbing heart and sad love, even your face in profile
Behind my eyelids, I'm still wrapped in the scent of summer

The scenery of the town keeps changing
The four seasons that comes around steadily
The days that pass in the midst of it
Two people who someday got separated

Wandering barefoot, searching for the shape of happiness
And I've come back to this town
So I could see you once again

Even though the time has passed, I am still immature
But this feeling towards you has never changed

The first nature documentary series on global endangered species in Taiwan, 《Orphans of the Earth》presents three new episodes in 2021 《Elves of Taiwan》，that reach out to the sky, the sea and the grasslands only to reveal precocious footages of the endangered endemic species that are known for extreme rarity, minimal sighting rate and videotaping challenges—Taiwan Grass Owls, the Taiwanese Humpback Dolphins, and the Formosan pangolins.

The production crew of “Elves of Taiwan” partakes in perhaps the most difficult animal rescue operations in line with conservation efforts and the most dignified science-based survey projects. The program unveils diversified local landscapes and endemic species completed by various angles and perspectives—from aerial rescues, ocean investigations, to underground bone excavations; it is indeed a brutally honest series that documents the conservation and restoration of the terrestrial, oceanic, and airborne endemic species in Taiwan.

In the Southwestern badlands in Taiwan, there is a very mysterious owl of terrestrial habitats, the Taiwan grass owls, and as of today, scientists are still unable to decipher its whereabouts and behaviors. Against all odds, the production team followed up all kinds of clues for two years— from bird net rescues, follow-up research, to nocturnal studies— and is finally able to present the stirring life story of these aerial elves of Taiwan as they face the changes and destructions in their habitats.
