（思忖著父親節）我來台灣快10年了，由於距離太遠我爸至今沒能來看我。他的身體不好，加上飲食的問題，長途飛行對他來說將會是一場噩夢，所以我總是回到美國，從沒想過要他飛來台灣。不過，在他 2017 年再婚後，飛來台灣成為可能的事，兩個人一起旅行比一個人旅行容易多了，因此他們計劃拜訪我，並打算在去年三月第一次拜訪台灣。不幸的是，幾乎所有航班都在 2020 年春季取消，因此這次旅行並沒有成形，且可能不再有下一次機會......我昨晚和他談過，明年也許我可能會飛回美國，至少我們還能在美國團聚，他不再單單只是個父親，而是一個祖父，我哥哥已經生了兩個小孩，我還沒有見過他們，雖然現在仍然不是一個很好的旅遊時機，但我們希望明年疫情會好轉。

我想作為父親是一項艱鉅的工作。回想起來，我知道我沒有讓它變得容易。他大部分時間也是單親父親，在我母親去世 22 年後，他終於再婚了，非常恭喜他！我最後一次見到他，還是在這張四年前的他的婚禮上(照片中)。再過3天我父親將滿 70 歲，祝福我的爸爸和所有的爸爸，尤其是所有的單身爸爸，父親節快樂。

(Fathers Day Musings) I've been in Taiwan for almost 10 years now, but my dad has so far been unable to visit me here. He's in poor health and has a lot of food issues that make plane travel a logistical nightmare. So I always went back to the USA and never expected him to be able to come here. After he married in 2017 though, it became a real possibility. Traveling together is easier than traveling alone, so they made plans to visit me and had intended to arrive in Taiwan for the first time in March of last year. Basically all travel was cancelled in spring of 2020 though, so that trip didn't happen. And it looks like it might never happen... But I talked to him last night and it seems like I might be able to go to the USA next year, so at least theres that. He's not just a father anymore, but a grandfather. My brother has two kids now that I've never seen and while it's still a terrible time to travel, we can hope that next year will be better.

It's a hard job being a father I think. Looking back I know that I didn't make it easy. He was a single father for most of it too, but 22 years after my mother died he finally remarried. So congratulations to him. The last time I saw him was at his own wedding 4 years ago. He turns 70 in 3 days. So to all the Dad's out there and especially all the single dad's out there, Happy Fathers Days.

(PS: And to all the son's out there, get your Dad something nice.

今回は、【とある日Vlog】急遽初めて韓国の遊園地へ ‼︎‼︎（日常ビログ）です！
ちょうど秋の季節で紅葉が綺麗だったので、見にこうと有名な場所へ行ったのですが
なんと週末は予約制ということで、入れませんでした?
そこで急遽子連れでも楽しめる場所を探していていたら
韓国の遊園地「Everland」を地図で見つけたので
家族で初めて韓国の遊園地へ行ってきました！
滞在時間は短かったんですが、思っていた以上に乗り物に乗れて
国内旅行な気分＆4歳のスカイラーもとても喜んでいました☆
また絶対に everlandへ行きたいです！

ひんやり さっぱり 夏にピッタリ！ハッカ油を入れた琥珀糖を作りました（石鹸じゃないよ）。色はかき氷シロップでミントのイメージに着色。夏場、特に湿度の高い梅雨の時期は乾燥しにくく、琥珀糖を作るのに向かない季節と言われますが、エアコンの力を借りたら、ちゃんと乾燥してくれました。これ、チョコをつけたらチョコミント琥珀糖になるね。

*レシピ*
１．きれいに洗った牛乳パックに緑と青のかき氷シロップを入れ準備する。緑 2ml、青 1ml。
２．鍋に水 200gと粉寒天 5gを入れ混ぜる。
３．火にかけ沸騰したら、弱火で2分ほど煮溶かす。
４．グラニュー糖 330gを入れ、沸騰したら焦がさないように混ぜながら煮詰める。
５．寒天液をヘラで持ち上げた時に、糸が引くようになる程度まで煮詰める。沸騰してから7〜8分程度加熱しました。
６．ハッカ油を数滴入れる。今回4滴。私的には適量。
７．(１)の牛乳パックに網で濾しながら2/3程度流し入れる。
８．残りの寒天液に緑のかき氷シロップを入れ混ぜる。緑 2ml。寒天液が薄まってしまうので、かき氷シロップは合わせて小さじ 1 以内までにする。
９．(８)を(７)の牛乳パックに流し入れる。
１０．2時間ほど冷蔵庫で冷やし、しっかり固める。
１１．牛乳パックを切り開き、琥珀糖を取り出す。
１２．切り分ける。きれいに真っ直ぐ切るのが難しい。
１３．オーブンシートの上に並べ、時々ひっくり返しながら乾燥させる。
１４．でけた。シャリッとモチッと感を楽しんで食べてね。
撮影時で乾燥を始めてから18時間程度経過しています。もっと時間が経つと外側の結晶が厚くなりジャリジャリ感が増します。

Cool, refreshing, and perfect for summer! We made amber candy with peppermint oil (it's not soap). We used shaved ice syrup to color it like mint.

The summer, especially during the rainy season when the humidity is especially high, is thought of as a bad time to make amber candy because it does not dry easily. However, we were able to dry it using the power of AC.

By adding chocolate to it, it becomes chocolate mint amber candy.

*Recipe*
1. Add green and blue shaved ice syrup in a milk carton that has been cleaned well for preparation. 2 mL of green and 1 mL of blue.
2. Add 200 g of water and 5 g of powder agar in a pot and stir.
3. Put it over heat and when it boils, allow it to heat for 2 minutes over low heat until it dissolves.
4. Add 330 g of granulated sugar and when it boils, stir it so that it does not burn while boiling it down.
5. Boil it down until the agar solution is stringy when you pick it up with a spatula. Heat for about 7 to 8 minutes after it started boiling.
6. Add a few drops of peppermint oil. 4 drops this time. This is perfect for me.
7. Pour about 2/3 into the milk carton from (1) while straining it with a sieve.
8. Add green shaved ice syrup to the remaining agar solution and stir. 2 mL of green. Since the agar solution will be diluted, don't use more than 1 teaspoon of shaved ice syrup combined.
9. Pour (8) into the milk carton from (7).
10. Cool it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours and allow it to harden thoroughly.
11. Cut open the milk carton and remove the amber candy.
12. Cut it into pieces. It is difficult to cut it nice and straight.
13. Place them on parchment paper and allow them to dry while flipping them over from time to time.
14. Done. Enjoy the crunchy, springy texture when you eat it.

At the time of filming, it has been about 18 hours since we started drying it. The longer you wait, the thicker the outer crystals become, making it even more crunchy.
