🏊♂台灣的海灘是世界上最美麗的海灘之一，但其中許多海灘都是封閉的，出於保護人們的觀念,水上活動被禁止。海洋是所有生命的發源地，人類與它有著深刻的心理聯繫。阻止對海洋的親近，就像阻擋我們自己的一部分。它也不會讓我們更安全。
🚣♂需要通過傳授海洋安全，提供救生設備和鼓勵人們使用現有公共資源(例如:公佈當日的浪級，潮汐時間等等)來減輕海洋風險。禁止令超越了對這些禁令的需求，並使人們留在海邊，沒有必要的工具或技能來處理這種情況。它還使人們在需要幫助時,而不太敢尋求幫助（因為他們可能害怕罰款），並且使得旁觀者不太可能知道在緊急情況下該做什麼。人們在沒有完整信息的情況下做出決策時只會承擔不合理的風險。鼓勵安全的政策，而不是阻止活動，將大大有助於減少事故，並為整個海洋旅遊業提供生機，海洋旅遊目前處於灰色地帶。
🏄♀如何改善海洋安全有很多方法，許多人可能有不同的意見。但是，沒有首先開始討論,就不會產生任何改善機會。這就是為什麼我鼓勵我的粉絲簽署這份請願書，這樣我們就可以開始滾動機會球，並進一步認真合理地談論海洋安全。

The beaches in Taiwan are some of the most beautiful in the world, but many of them are closed and water activities are banned out of a perceived notion that this protects people. The ocean is the birthplace of all life though, and humans have a deep psychological connection to it. Blocking off access to the oceans, is like blocking off a part of ourselves. It also doesn’t make us safer.
The risks of the ocean need to be mitigated by teaching ocean safety, providing life-saving equipment, and encouraging people to use available public resources. A ban eclipses the need for any of these, and leaves people on the beachside without the necessary tools or skills to deal with the situation. It also makes it less likely for people to call for help when they need it (because they may be afraid of fines) and makes it less likely for bystanders to know what to do in the case of an emergency. People only take unreasonable risks when they are making decisions without complete information. A policy of encouraging safety, as opposed to discouraging activities, will go a long way to reducing accidents, and also give life to an entire industry of ocean tourism, which now sits in a grey zone.
There are many ways forward on how to improve ocean safety, and many people may have differing opinions. However, nothing can happen without first starting a discussion. That’s why I encourage my fans to sign this petition, so that we can get the ball rolling, and start talking about ocean safety in a serious and rational manner.
It’s possible to keep the oceans open, free, and safe. The ocean is not a boogeyman, the ocean is our mother.
