NHẠC SĨ PHIM BATMAN 1989 LÀM TIẾP VIÊN HOẢNG SỢ VÌ… SÁNG TÁC TRÊN MÁY BAY
Mới đây, trong một trên chương trình podcast, nhạc sĩ Danny Elfman cho biết quá trình làm nhạc cho phim Batman của đạo diễn Tim Burton “vừa kỳ cục, vừa lố bịch”. Nhạc sĩ người Mỹ từng bay đến London để tham quan phim trường và xem thử bản cắt để lấy cảm hứng sáng tác. Tuy nhiên, chuyến bay trở về Los Angeles mới là lúc cơn ác mộng bắt đầu.
“Đúng lúc không nên nhất thì đầu tôi lại nảy số. Tôi nghĩ ra bản nhạc đúng lúc ngồi trên máy bay mới đau chứ. Thế là tôi kiểu: Chết rồi làm gì bây giờ? Đang ngồi trên máy bay mà? Nhưng mà không làm thì quên hết mất thôi. Đến lúc hạ cánh, người ta mà bật nhạc The Beatles thì toang là cái chắc.” Danny kể.
Thật may là vị nhạc sĩ lúc nào cũng mang máy ghi âm theo mình. Ông nói tiếp: “Tôi chạy ngay vào nhà vệ sinh, lẩm nhẩm vào máy, xong quay lại chỗ ngồi, nghĩ độ 10 phút rồi lại chạy vào nhà vệ sinh, cứ thế lặp lại mãi, vì tôi không thể làm được gì nếu có ai đấy ngồi bên cạnh.”
Cuối cùng, những tiếp viên hàng không buộc phải đến “hỏi thăm” Danny. Tuy nhà soạn nhạc đã trả lời rằng ông hoàn toàn ổn, nhưng chẳng ai tin.
Ông tâm sự: “Đến một lúc, tôi mở cửa phòng vệ sinh và thấy 3 tiếp viên đứng trong đó. Họ nói kiểu: “Ông ấy làm cái mẹ gì trong đó vậy? Làm gì có ai xả được nhiều thế? Không một ai phải giải quyết nỗi buồn liên tục như vậy được. Chắc chắn là làm gì mờ ám rồi.” Khổ quá, tôi đang vắt óc ra làm nhạc phim Người dơi mà.”
Ngoài Batman 1989, Danny Elfman còn tham gia vào khâu soạn nhạc của nhiều bộ phim nổi tiếng khác như Spider-Man phần 2 và 3 của Sam Raimi; Men in Black hay The Nightmare Before Christmas.
