The Seven Years of Great Plenty
“That is the thing which I spoke to Pharaoh. What God is about to do he has shown to Pharaoh. Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt. There will arise after them seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land, and the plenty will not be known in the land by reason of that famine which follows; for it will be very grievous. The dream was doubled to Pharaoh, because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.” (Genesis 41:28-32 WEB)
A while back, the Holy Spirit opened my understanding to the passage above. Pharaoh’s dream has an end-times application.
The Tribulation will be the final “week” (seven years period) that completes Daniel’s seventy weeks prophecy.
The first half of the seven years is the rise of the Antichrist whereby he gains the trust of Israel through pretense and cunning. It will seem like a time of peace.
The second half of the seven years is the tyranny of the Antichrist and he will betray Israel and show his true colors—that he is actually intending to destroy Israel and the saints (all who confess Jesus as their Lord).
It will be the worst time of anti-Semitism and persecution of Christians—it will be difficult to be a believer and avoid taking the Mark of the Beast.
“After the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One shall be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and its end shall be with a flood, and even to the end shall be war; desolations are determined. He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out on the desolate.” (Daniel 9:26-27 WEB)
The seven years of grievous famine in Pharaoh’s dream corresponds to the seven years of Tribulation.
This means that the seven years of great plenty right before the famine begins represents the years leading up to the Rapture of the church.
“Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” (Revelation 3:10 WEB)
We won’t be here for the Tribulation (the hour of testing for the whole world).
Every born-again believer will be in Heaven before the Tribulation begins, safe in our Abba Father’s house and warmly wrapped in Jesus’ embrace.
In the seven years leading up the Rapture, we are going to experience an unprecedented level of blessings and harvest of souls for God’s kingdom like never before.
The church of Jesus Christ will shine so brightly and the world will be drawn to its light.
It’s going to be huge and it’s like a final tidal wave of salvation that plucks souls out of the jaws of Hell, before the earth goes through the worst suffering it will ever experience.
Like how God affirmed to Pharaoh that He would shortly bring the dream to pass, I believe we are close to the time of Jesus’ return as well! Closer than we think!
What is the key to living worthily in these end part of the end times?
“He who testifies these things says, “Yes, I come quickly.” Amen! Yes, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all the saints. Amen.” (Revelation 22:20-21 WEB)
God’s priority is undoubtedly the salvation of souls. It pains His heart to see so many souls doomed to hell every day.
If we sincerely want to prioritize His top priority and join Him in this worthy work, He will surely provide the means and the accompanying signs and wonders to make our evangelism effective. You won’t be going alone—Heaven is on your side.
Live like Jesus is coming back today, and rely on His Grace for all your needs. In these last days, we need both urgency and dependency.
With the combination of the boldly preached Gospel and God’s confirming miracles, we will see a huge end-times harvest of souls for God’s Kingdom!

I spent a few days with my younger brother and mom in Hong Kong, a city she loves but has not visited in decades.
It was in the twenties before we came but it became a balmy thirty-four degrees Celsius when we landed.
Not for mother the glitzy and touristy attractions. No, mom sought out the wet markets of Nathan Road, and made us take her to the grungiest, grimiest bits of Hong Kong we could find.
Mom grew up in Chinatown, Singapore, so she was in her element here. We helped to carry her marketing, like dried seafood. If she could cart fresh meat and fish past customs, she would have bought the entire wet market too.
She also insisted on visiting Wing On Department Store and even though the brother and I thought it was very OG, it turned out to be quite well-stocked with decent brands.
We made a side trip to Chueng Chau island, and visited my 堂兄 (paternal cousin) in Discovery Bay.
At Cheung Chau, they were preparing for the Cheung Chau Bun Festival on their Vesak Day. My brother and I purchased matching fedoras because we were vain. It turned out to be the best decision we made, because of the heat and sun.
We took a bumboat to see a temple there, because mom is a temple nerd. Every temple also must see.
On the last day, mom wanted to see The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Sha Tin. In the mad heat and humidity, we climbed the hill. Only to realize it was the wrong temple. It was the Po Fook Ancestral Worship Halls next door.
Guagua.
It was still a lovely view from up there, but down the hill we went, to look for the right trail of Golden Buddhas. We did find it, but halfway up the hill, I decided the heat and exertion would be too much for my 76-year-old mother to reach the top, and declared Exercise Cut.
So we only managed to see One Hundred Buddhas.
It was great for spend time with my younger brother and mom, but next time I’m going to come to Hong Kong in a cooler season.

雞翼牛脷魚麪鍋
材料:
魚陣營陣陣魚麪3個
至營百搭鮮魚湯1條
惠里豚牛奶泰國雞翼6隻
香港地牛脷2包
辣椒仔1隻
芫荽1棵
處理:
1. 雞翼,清水解凍,用廚紙索乾,加入調味料:
a. 胡椒粉少許
b. 蠔油1湯匙
c. 老抽1茶匙
撈勻,醃5分鐘。
2. 牛脷,拆開包裝保鮮紙,用廚紙索乾水分。
3. 辣椒仔,切粒。
芫荽,切碎。
烹調:
1. 大火在鑊中燒熱少量油。
2. 放牛脷在鑊內煎香,每面各煎大約10秒。
3. 加入少量黑椒鹽。
4. 夾牛脷上碟。
5. 在鑊中加入少量油。
6. 放雞翼煎香,兩面都略煎至金黃色,加入清水100毫升,冚蓋,炆至收汁就可以了。
7. 在湯鍋上剪開魚湯,加入清水500毫升,大火煮滾。
8. 魚麪預先放室溫解凍15分鐘。
9. 魚麪,放入魚湯煮滾。
10. 雞翼已炆至收汁,放上碟。
11. 魚麪已煮好,放好牛脷及雞翼在上面。
12. 放上辣椒粒及芫荽碎在麪上。
13. 完成,可享用。

Ox tongue fish noodles claypot with chicken wings
Ingredients:
Fish noodles 3 Nos.
Fish soup cube 1 No.
Chicken wings 6 Nos.
Ox tongue 2 packs
Chili 1 No.
Coriander 1 No.
Preparation:
1. Chicken wings, defrost with tap water. Dry with kitchen towels. Add seasoning:
a. Pepper little
b. Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
c. Dark soya sauce 1 tsp
Mix well. Season for 5 minutes.
2. Ox tongue, remove cling wrap. Dry with kitchen towels.
3. Chili, dice in cubes.
Coriander, chop well.
Steps:
1. Heat up little oil at high flame in wok.
2. Put ox tongue, fry well. Fry for 10 seconds on each side.
3. Add in little black pepper salt.
4. Put ox tongue on plate.
5. Add in little oil in wok.
6. Put chicken wings, fry well. Fry both sides of wings until they turn into colour of golden yellow. Add in water 100ml. Cover up the wok. Braise until the sauce becomes thick.
7. Unsealed the fish soup on top of pot. Add in water 500ml. Heat up at high flame.
8. Defrost the fish noodles in room temperature for 15 minutes.
9. Fish noodles, cook well in the fish soup.
10. Chicken wings, the sauce has been turned thick. Put on plate.
11. Fish noodles has been cooked well, put ox tongue and chicken wings on top.
12. Put chili and coriander cubes on top of noodles.
13. Complete. Serve.

麻辣雞翼尖:
材料:
雞翼尖1磅
辣椒仔2隻
芫荽1棵
調味料:
麻辣醬1茶匙
紹興酒2湯匙
粗鹽1茶匙
老抽1湯匙
處理:
1. 雞翼尖用清水浸軟。
2. 用粗鹽乸雞翼尖5分鐘,乸去雪味,雞腥味及加入少許鹹味。
3. 芫荽切碎。
4. 辣椒切粒。
5. 雞翼尖,沖洗乾淨。
烹調:
1. 煲滾一升水。
2. 加入2茶匙紹興酒除去雞腥味。
3. 加入1湯匙老抽上色。
4. 開大火至煲滾。
5. 雞翼尖開始轉深色,滾起,冚蓋,轉最慢火炆10分鐘。
6. 預備冰粒,加入凍滾水。
7. 轉大火,要肯定煮熟雞翼尖。
8. 倒去滾水,馬上浸冰15分鐘。
9. 隔去水分,吹乾15分鐘。
10. 加麻辣醬入雞翼尖,再加上辣椒粒及芫荽粒,攪勻,上碟。上碟後,再灑上一次芫荽粒及辣椒粒。
11. 放入雪櫃雪1小時以上,可食用了。
Hot & spicy chicken wing tips:
Ingredients:
Chicken wing tips 1lb
Red chili 2 Nos.
Coriander 1 No.
Seasoning:
Sichuan hot and spicy sauce 1 tsp
Shaoxing wine 2 tbsp
Cooking salt 1 tsp
Dark soya sauce 1 tbsp
Preparation:
1. Defrost chicken wing tips with tap water for 15 minutes.
2. Season with cooking salt to remove unpleasant smells and tastes and add some salty taste to chicken wing tips.
3. Chop coriander well.
4. Dice red chili.
5. Rinse chicken wing tips thoroughly.
Steps:
1. Boil up 1L water in wok.
2. Put 2 tsp Shaoxing wine into boiling up water to remove unpleasant smells and tastes of chicken wing tips.
3. Add 1 tsp of dark soya sauce to deepen the colour of chicken wing tips.
4. Boil up sauce at high flame.
5. Colour of chicken wing tips has been changed darker, put the lid on wok, turn to the lowest flame.
6. Prepare ice cubes, add cold water to it as well.
7. Make sure chicken wing tips have been cooked well but turning to high flame.
8. Pour away water in wok, immerse into iced water immediately for 15 minutes
9. Drain the water, drt in room temperature for 15 minutes .
10. Mix chicken wing tips with chili cubes and coriander cubes. Put on plate. Put coriander cubes and chili cubes on top.
11. Put into refrigerator for 1 hour. Serve.

Cheesy Bacon & Egg Boat ขนมปังไข่เบคอนชีส
ขนมปังบาแก็ตนำมาใช้เป็นภาชนะใส่ไข่อบชีสที่มีเบคอนชิ้นหนาผสมอยู่ด้วย ดูเหมือนจะเป็นเมนูอาหารเช้า แต่ด้วยส่วนประกอบของชีสเยิ้มๆ ทำให้เมนูนี้รับประทานอร่อยได้ทุกมื้อ
เนย (ละลาย) 3 ช้อนโต๊ะ
ขนมปังบาแก็ต (เล็ก) 1 ชิ้น
เบคอน (หั่นหนา) 100 กรัม
เนย 20 กรัม
หอมใหญ่ (ซอย) 180 กรัม
กระเทียม (สับ) 2 กลีบ
พาร์สลีย์แห้ง ½ ช้อนชา
เกลือ ปรุงรส
พริกไทยดำ ปรุงรส
ไข่ไก่ 4 ฟอง
วิปครีม 3 ช้อนโต๊ะ
ชีสพาร์มิซาน (ขูด) ¼ ถ้วย
ชีสมอซซาเรลลา ¾ ถ้วย
1. ใช้มีดเจาะกลางขนมปังบาแก็ตให้เป็นร่องสี่เหลี่ยมตามยาว แซะเนื้อออก ระวังอย่าให้ขนมปังทะลุ พรมด้านในขนมปังด้วยเนยละลาย พักไว้
2. เปิดเตาอบที่ 190 องศาเซลเซียส โปรแกรมพัดลม เตรียมไว้
3. รวนเบคอนในกระทะให้สุกดี ตักออกมาพักไว้
4. ในกระทะใบเดิม ผัดหอมและกระเทียมกับน้ำมันจากเบคอน จนหอมมีลักษณะที่ใสสีน้ำตาลอ่อน และนุ่มขึ้น ปรุงด้วยเกลือ และพริกไทย ใส่ส่วนผสมลงในขนมปังบาแก็ต
5. ตีไข่ และครีม ใส่พาร์สลีย์ ปรุงด้วยเกลือและพริกไทย นำส่วนผสมใส่ลงในหม้อพร้อมด้วยเนย คนด้วยตะกร้อจนส่วนผสมเริ่มเซ็ตตัว ยกออกจากความร้อน ใส่ชีสมอซซาเรลลาและเบคอนลงไปครึ่งหนึ่ง ตักส่วนผสมใส่ลงในบาแก็ต โรยหน้าด้วยเบคอน ชีสมอซซาเรลลาที่เหลือ และชีสพาร์มิซาน
นำเข้าอบเป็นเวลา 15 นาที รับประทานร้อนๆ
For breakfast, brunch or dinner, this baked cheesy eggs and bacon-in-a-baguettes are a crowd-pleaser.
Butter (melted) 3 tbsp
Small Baguette 1
Bacon (thick cut) 100 g
Butter 20 g
Onion (sliced) 180 g
Garlic (minced) 2 cloves
Dried Parsley ½ tsp
Salt
Black Pepper
Eggs 4
Whipping Cream 3 tbsp
Parmesan Cheese (grated) ¼ cup
Mozzarella Cheese ¾ cup
1. Cut a baguette through the top, without cutting through the bottom, partially unstuff the baguette to form a space within. Brush the pocket with melted butter and set aside.
2. Preheat oven at 190°C fan-forced.
3. In a pan, lightly saute bacon to render out some fat, remove from the heat and set aside.
4. In the same pan, saute garlic and onion with bacon grease until onion is translucent and lightly brown. Season with salt and pepper and add to the loaf.
5. Mix egg and cream then add parsley, season with salt and pepper. Transfer the mix to the pot with butter and constantly mix with a whisk until egg is slightly set then remove from the heat. Add half of the bacon and mozzarella cheese to the egg and pour the mixture into baguette loaf. Garnish with bacon, mozzarella and parmesan.
6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and serve hot.
