Shifu spoke these words some time ago. There were more but I only managed to take these down.
2600 years ago, Buddha expounded on the Eight Sufferings that every sentient being has to go through, one of which is the devastating suffering of Illness.
It tears apart the person undergoing it and pains the loved ones of the patient.
It doesn't have to be a terminal illness. It doesn't only strike the old.
The mother who grapples with her baby running a 39 °C fever that refuses to go away.
The teenager who has severe acne that ruined her porcelain skin.
The professional whose allergies always act up.
I think the most torturous illness isn't what I wrote above.
But the illness of the mind.
There is no physical medication to cure that.
The young man who masturbates everyday to pornography, exhausting the life essence in his body.
(The quality and quantity of Qi in our bodies have a very direct impact on our fortune in life.)
The woman who sees no wrong in one-night stands with married men.
The old auntie who hoards a roomful of trash.
The amateur who refuses to learn from a virtuous teacher but instead opt to go into Darkness, destroying all possible chances of liberation.
(Or think that one can learn without a teacher.)
My Grandmaster, Living Buddha Lian-Sheng, 蓮生活佛, once said that all of us are mentally sick. Just that we have yet to drop below the clinical standards of "mentally healthy".
I so agree.
If you look around, and look deep inside, the attachments we have within us are all manifestations of sicknesses.
Greed, hatred, ignorance, jealousy, arrogance, suspicion.
Depression, anxiety, anger, obsession, spaced out, suicidal tendencies.
These manifestations can ruin a perfectly healthy body over time.
Only the teachings from the Buddha can transform these attachments into Dharma medication that heal us over time.
I met this middle-aged client for a Bazi consultation in March. During my analysis, she was crying and crying almost non-stop, so much that the waiter came over to serve us a plate of serviettes.
The consultation almost never took place.
Firstly, she contacted me with a dummy FB account.
My mum's advice to the little girl me: never talk to unknown strangers. 😂
Secondly, one day, she did not address me by my name, but just sent me a message.
You know I'm particular about manners when it comes to my client work. I'm not obliged to help you just because you can pay for my time. No one is.
But she was conscientious enough to send me another properly-addressed message.
She told me several times how thankful she was for my advice.
When I asked for her permission to share this text, she hesistated for a long while, but still agreed in the end.
This is one reason why I am especially grateful to clients and readers, who never shy away from Liking my posts with their real FB accounts.
I have this group of clients or readers who never Like anything. They revel in my writings secretly and tell me it is inconvenient/sensitive. Some of them worry what their FB friends, colleagues or family will think of them, if they Like a Feng Shui/Buddhist practitioner's posts.
One guy told me he didn't want to offend his previous Feng Shui master, a FB Friend, despite my advice bringing him more money than the Master's.
I am like their secret lover they hide in a golden mansion.
人,不要虛偽,不要偷偷摸摸。
光明正大最好。
嘴巴就是要拿來解釋的。
If not for those who have Liked my posts, I may not have written so much and so consistently.
So thank you.
#按讚真的是美德 #分享更是功德 😂
Don't get me wrong. I still appreciate the silent readers. 😍
If you suffer from depression and anxiety for a long time and do not know what else to do, I have this free but very effective advice.
1. Don't kill lives.
Be it an ant, a baby or yourself. Saying hurtful words counts. Forbidding another person to learn the Dharma or any good religious teaching counts too.
Every living being has a Buddha nature.
No one wishes to be killed. A killed spirit bears much grievances and will haunt you.
I see too many people with too many black shadows trailing behind them, and these people tend to get emotional/angry easily due to the Yin energy surrounding them.
2. Don't steal.
Whatever that is not yours, don't take.
Don't snatch the spouse of another person.
Don't bring home paper from the company for your son to draw.
Don't swindle money from the company.
Don't sell inferior products for a high price.
Don't sell counterfeits.
Don't do fake accounts to evade taxes.
3. Don't engage in sexual misconduct.
Sex before marriage often leads to abortions or children who are especially hard to teach.
Masturbation isn't a release but often leads to more sexual fantasies, that accumulates negative karma of the body and mind.
Adultery is never okay. Sleeping with married ones is just as dumb.
Don't flirt when you already have a partner or if the other party has. You are not a butterfly nor queen bee.
Do not behave like a wild animal. Or you plant the karmic seed to be reborn as one.
Also, a man who cheats on his wife is very likely to be a bad choice as a business partner. Vice versa.
4. Don't lie.
You are gifted with the ability of speech and writing, not to slander, deceive, gossip, spread rumours or talk nonsense.
When is the last time you use your speaking and writing skills for good?
White lie is still a lie.
Empty promises are also lies.
"Ji Qian! I will contact you for a Feng Shui audit when I come back in May."
I never ask for that. And I don't care when you want to find me. You don't have to lie and get your painfully accumulated merits slashed.
5. Don't drink.
Alcohol can cause a person to commit all the sins above.
.
Bad Feng Shui, failing business, or a turbulent destiny happen when you break the rules of karma.
Repent consistently to undo what you have done wrong. Go spread the word to tell people not to make the same mistakes as you did.
A person who sincerely abides by these 5 precepts will naturally evoke the protection of virtuous gods. Their Yang presence will help drive away the Yin energy enveloping you.
It may take years for some sins to be rectified, so start now.
There are people who pay good money to wear all kinds of protection amulets, but even the most powerful amulet can not fight against Karma.
佛都不能滅因果,鬼神又怎麼可能可以呢?
So learn how to protect yourself from the root.
I can help you, but first you got to help yourself.
Then again, if you have no guilt over what you have done, there is nothing I can do.
The best Feng Shui works most effectively only for the virtuous.
.
Translation of client's message:
Ms Ji Qian
Today is Mother's Day.
May you be healthy and beautiful forever.
And that everything will go your way.
I have no flowers or present for you
But only my best wishes!
Thank you Ms Ji Qian for your teachings.
My mood and emotions are much calmer now.
My brain is clearer now.
I have been doing what you taught and advised.
And I hope to do it better.
Thank you.

sportskeeda=> PV Sindhu loses the final to World No.3 Tai Tzu Ying by Sudeshna Banerjee
Rio Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu came up against a stumbling block in the final of the 2016 Hong Kong Open Superseries on Sunday in her quest to win back-to-back Superseries titles. The Indian, who captured the China Open last week, gave her all but it was not enough to surmount the confident fourth seed and World No. 3 Tai Tzu Ying. The Chinese Taipei shuttler used her brilliant deceptive game to clinch a 21-15, 21-17 win in 41 minutes.Tai had a 4-3 head-to-head record over the Indian and was indeed a tough opponent for the 21-year-old. But the Indian had also beaten her in their very last showdown at the Rio Olympic in August in straight games and was definitely looking to repeat that. All her hopes were dashed as Tai refused to have any let-up in her intensity. From the start to the finish, she was the one fully in control of the proceedings.Interestingly, it was the fourth seed, who had struggled to reach the summit clash and had dropped a game in three of her four matches. Sindhu, in contrast, had grown in confidence with every match and conceded a game just once in four matches and was riding high on a nine-match winning streak.Tai built a lead of 5-3 in the opening game and even though Sindhu came back to get within 8-9, the Chinese Taipei shuttler was able to grab an 11-8 advantage at the interval. On resumption, Tai’s deceptive game continued to hurt the Indian badly. Showing exceptional all-court movement, the higher-ranked player stormed ahead to 17-10 and extended the lead to 19-14 before wrapping up the opener. In the second game, it was Sindhu who made a better start and inched ahead 4-2 only to see the sizzling Tai come back to erase it for 4-4. The young Indian tried to use her aggressive game to get a slender lead but was prevented from running away with it as Tai used her exquisite touches to perfection to disrupt Sindhu’s rhythm. From 11-10 up at the break, Sindhu soon found herself trailing 13-17. The two engaged in some gritty rallies towards the end and a 32-point rally kept the crowd on tenterhooks. Ultimately, Tai managed to stave off the surging Sindhu to pocket the win which gave the Chinese Taipei player her second Hong Kong Open Superseries crown.^^page admin

Latrell Sprewell arrived early, entered the game
late and disappeared down the stretch along with the rest of his
team.
Sprewell played his first game of the season, but couldn't
reverse the New York Knicks' slide as the Philadelphia 76ers scored
17 of the final 25 points for a 93-92 victory Saturday.
''C-plus,'' Sprewell said when asked to assess his performance.
''I could have been a lot better.''
The 76ers won on the road for the first time this season, while
the defeat was the fourth in a row for the Knicks. Allen Iverson and
Todd MacCulloch each scored 17 points, Keith Van Horn had 15 points
and 12 rebounds and Eric Snow added 14 points for the 76ers.
The habitually tardy Sprewell arrived at the arena six minutes
before his team's 11:30 a.m. deadline, then made his first
appearance nine minutes into the game -- the first time he came off
the bench since the 1999 playoffs.
Sprewell played 31 minutes and had 16 points on 6-for-15
shooting but was held scoreless for the final 10 minutes.
Howard Eisley had 16 points and 10 assists for the Knicks, whose
1-8 record is the worst in the Eastern Conference.
''We have a whole lot of basketball left,'' Sprewell said. ''If
we give up now, it could get a whole lot worse.''
Sprewell, who missed the first seven weeks of the preseason and
regular season while recovering from a broken hand, scored seven of
his points in a 16-4 run bridging the third and fourth quarters as
New York turned a 63-58 deficit into a 74-67 lead. The rally
injected some life into a crowd that had been waiting nearly all
season for something to cheer.
Sprewell was poised to restore the Knicks' seven-point lead
after he poked the ball away from Snow and went in alone for a
breakaway dunk. But a moment before he jammed the ball with two
hands, Kurt Thomas body checked trailing defender Brian Skinner and
was called for a foul, erasing the basket.
''I'm still mad at Kurt,'' Sprewell said with a laugh.
''Actually, he said he thought (Skinner) was going to foul me.''
Thomas picked up a technical foul for arguing during a timeout
less than a minute later, and Iverson hit the foul shot to cut the
deficit to four. Eisley answered with a 3-pointer and Othella
Harrington hit two foul shots for a 79-70 lead.
It was 84-76 with 6:05 left before the 76ers rallied, holding
New York without a field goal for four minutes and using an 11-2
run to take an 87-85 lead.
Iverson tied it at 89 on two foul shots with 1:52 left. Michael
Doleac missed a jumper and Van Horn scored on a putback, making it
91-89, and Allan Houston missed a jumper from the corner with 30
seconds left.
Game notes
Keith Bishop, a 31-year-old school bus driver from Hudson
Falls, N.Y., hit a shot from halfcourt to win $1 million. He
received a handshake from Iverson and a roar from the crowd that
was many times louder than the cheers that greeted Sprewell when he
checked in for the first time. ... To make room for Sprewell on the
active roster, forward Mark Pope was placed in the injured list. ...
Knicks coach Don Chaney indicated that Charlie Ward (bruised lower
leg) will not return until Friday night at the earliest. ''He's not
close to being ready yet,'' Chaney said. ... Houston missed a free
throw late in the fourth quarter, his first miss after 33
consecutive makes. ... The last time the Knicks were 1-8 was
1985-86.

The Philadelphia 76ers hadn't won a game. The Indiana Pacers hadn't lost.
Until Saturday night.
The 76ers, playing their fourth game in five days, handed the Pacers a 111-109 loss and gave Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks his first win with the team.
The Pacers were unbeaten and are among the favorites to contend for the Eastern Conference title. The 76ers were coming off a 20-point loss to Detroit and a 17-point home loss to Charlotte.
Chris Webber said the team was happy to get a win for Cheeks, who played for the 76ers.
"It felt good to get coach Cheeks his first win because he's proud to be a 76er and that makes me proud to be a 76er," said Webber, who had 25 points and nine rebounds.
Allen Iverson led Philadelphia (1-3) with 29 points and 12 assists.
Jermaine O'Neal led Indiana (2-1) with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Philadelphia ruined Ron Artest's first regular-season home game since last November. He was suspended for 73 games and the playoffs last season after going into the stands Nov. 19 and fighting with Pistons fans in Auburn Hills, Mich. He finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
The 76ers nearly blew a 20-point lead. Indiana had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but Stephen Jackson and Jamaal Tinsley missed 3-pointers and Webber made two free throws on the other end with 1.8 seconds left to seal the win.
Tinsley finished with 21 points and six assists. Jackson scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, making three 3-pointers.
"This was a heck of a win for us," Cheeks said. "We had to grind it out in the end, and they made some spectacular 3-point shots, but we were able to hold on."
Kyle Korver, who had 15 points and a career-high nine assists for the 76ers, said Cheeks motivated the team before the game.
"Coach challenged us," he said. "He didn't yell, he didn't curse or anything like that. He just laid it on the line for us and told us we need to meet the challenge."
The Pacers were grasping for answers after starting the season with wins at Orlando and Miami. Tinsley said the loss takes some luster off the impressive start.
"We waited too late to play," Tinsley said. "Can't wait until the fourth quarter then hope to play catch-up and win. Coming here and laying an egg took enough away from it."
Artest might have tried to do too much in his long-awaited return to Conseco Fieldhouse. The Pacers made their first 20 free-throw attempts, but Artest missed one in the final minute with the Pacers trailing 108-105. He also had a turnover on a drive to the hoop with the Pacers trailing 106-102, and Webber scored at the other end to increase Philadelphia's lead to four with 1:45 left.
Iverson entered the game third in the league with 31.7 points per game despite shooting 39 percent from the field. He made 11-of-29 shots against the Pacers.
"My teammates did a great job," he said. "They hit big shots. They picked me up tonight and helped me out."
Philadelphia led 61-52 at halftime and took an 86-66 lead on Iverson's basket with 4:14 left in the third quarter.
"Our defense has to be more solid, 111 points on our court is too many," Indiana coach Rick Carlisle said. "We have to be a better defensive team than that."
