#愛與和平遇上槍 1960年代，美國黑人民權運動 出現兩大路線一條是和理非非、用愛抗爭的馬丁路德金（#MLK )，另一條是主張黑人至上，武裝維權的 #MalcomX 。當年 MLK 同MalcomX路線不同，難道一個叫對方做「鬼」，另一個反譏諷做「今天我...」「白行」？ #沒有
即使，兩人都否定對方是最好的抗爭方式，但雙方沒有攻擊對方或其支持者。即使有一次，也是唯一一次Malcom X 氣得取笑MLK做「20th-century modern Uncle Tom （廿一世紀順從的黑奴）」節目主持人在訪問問之，MLK 忽略這個回應, 繼續談他的和理非。
1964年3月更一同出席國會辯論，爭取黑人運動史上最標誌性的《民權法案1964 Civil Rights Act of 1964》。兩人見面，也是他們在生唯一一次相見，就化解了過去的不安，肯定對方。Malcom X也發表他著名的「選票或子彈 The Ballot or the Bullet」演說。法案亦於1964年7月2日生效。
在Malcom X 遇弒後，馬丁路德金寫了一封電報給Malcom X 遺孀：
「雖然我們並不總是一致地看待解決種族問題的方法，但我總是對馬爾科姆有一種深深的感情，並且覺得他有很強的能力指出問題的存在和根源。 對於他的觀點，他是一位雄辯的發言人，沒有人可以誠實地懷疑馬爾科姆對我們作為種族所面臨的問題非常關注。（While we did not always see eye to eye on methods to solve the race problem, I always had a deep affection for Malcolm and felt that he had a great ability to put his finger on the existence and root of the problem. He was an eloquent spokesman for his point of view and no one can honestly doubt that Malcolm had a great concern for the problems that we face as a race.）」
華盛頓在奧巴馬年代新開了國家非裔美國人歷史文化中心 （Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture） 。如果人生只可去一百間博物館，這一定是其中之一。
