“I am confident that the whole world will continue to benefit from the ongoing innovative scientific and technological cooperation between the United States and Taiwan, as our most brilliant minds from industries, academia, and research communities work together to meet the challenges ahead.” Director Christensen, speaking today at an event with Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, Minister of Science and Technology Wu Tsong-Tseng, and Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs C.C. Chen to officially launch the AIT-TECRO Agreement on Science and Technological Cooperation. This agreement was virtually signed by Representative Bi-Khim Hsiao and AIT/W Managing Director Ingrid Larson, and presented during a virtual ceremony by Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Keith Krach. It provides a legal structure for further bilateral collaboration to advance scientific research, unleash technological innovation, and ensure research integrity and intellectual property protection. It is symbolic of the trust and the values that the U.S. and Taiwan share.
