Last Sunday was well spent with starting my day at @upsidemotion with @huxley_sg to experience the benefit of Huxley’s new Mask; Moisture and Freshness after a Xtend Barre class. What I really like about the mask is that it doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky after use and the fitting of the mask is 💯! Oh yes, my skin feel so well hydrated, supple and glows after use! Can you believe that this picture is taken of me without any traces of makeup?

The Upside (2019) เข้าฉาย 21 กุมภาพันธ์นี้

เป็น remake แบบสร้างมาแค่ตั้งใจดัดแปลงให้คนอเมริกันไม่ต้องอ่านซับเท่านั้นมั้งเนี่ย ต้องเข้าใจก่อนว่าปกติคนอเมริกันไม่นิยมดูหนังภาษาอื่นเลยนอกจากภาษาอังกฤษเพราะไม่คุ้นเคยกับการอ่านซับไตเติ้ลข้างล่าง ดังนั้นต่อให้ The Intouchables ต้นฉบับจากฝรั่งเศสจะฮิตระเบิดระเบ้อในยุโรปขนาดไหนก็เข้าถึงคนอเมริกันยากจนกว่าจะ remake แบบนี้เนี่ยแหละ เรารู้สึกว่า The Upside จะมีวิธีการตีความความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเศรษฐีอัมพาตกับผู้ช่วยผิวดำต่างจากของเดิม แน่นอนว่ารสนิยมการเล่นมุกตลกก็แทบจะเป็นสไตล์เควิน ฮาร์ท เต็มตัว รวมถึงการเล่าเรื่องค่อนข้างเป็นสูตรแบบดราม่าในหนังอเมริกัน ถ้าไม่คิดอะไรมากก็อยู่ในระดับที่ดูได้ แต่ยังคงเชียร์ให้หาต้นฉบับมาดูมากกว่าถ้าอยากได้อรรถรสเต็ม ๆ (นี่ดูตั้งแต่ 7-8 ปีที่แล้วก็มีลืม ๆ หนังบ้างเหมือนกันแฮะ)

แกนหลักของเรื่องในสายตาเรามันคือวิธีปฏิบัติต่อคนพิการเหมือนเป็นคนปกติทั่วไป ไม่ใช่มองด้วยสายตาสงสารเวทนาหรือหลบไม่ให้อยู่ในสายตา แต่จุดเริ่มต้นใน The Upside เป็นเรื่องของ 'เดลล์' (Kevin Hart) อดีตนักโทษที่อยู่ในช่วงทัณฑ์บนต้องพยายามไปสมัครงานตามที่ต่าง ๆ แต่เขาไม่อยากทำงานที่ไหนเลยจึงแค่ไปสมัครให้เซ็นเอกสารรับรองเท่านั้นพอ จนกระทั่ง 'ฟิลิปป์' (Bryan Cranston) เศรษฐีที่เป็นอัมพาตแขนขาตัดสินใจจ้างเขามาทำงานเป็นผู้ดูแลส่วนตัว เพียงเพราะเห็นว่าเดลล์แตกต่างจากผู้สมัครคนอื่น อาจจะดูเป็นคนที่พร้อมจะปล่อยให้เขาตายตามใจปรารถนา และเป็นคู่กัดที่มีสกิลปากจัดเหลือหลาย แต่ถ้าเทียบกันแล้วต้นฉบับจะเห็นการไม่ยอมตามใจมากกว่า ซึ่งช่วยให้เห็นภาพความสัมพันธ์ที่แตกต่างจากคนอื่นที่ไม่กล้าขัดใจเจ้านายแม้จะเป็นเรื่องไม่ถูกต้องก็ตาม

The Upside มาในแบบฟีลกู้ดเต็มตัว แทรกดราม่านิด ๆ พอเป็นจุดขัดแย้งตามธรรมเนียมเพื่อจะได้คลี่คลายแล้วจบหนังสวย ๆ หนังมันสนุกในการได้เห็นเควิน ฮาร์ท พาเจ้านายไปทำอะไรใหม่ ๆ หรือได้ระบายอารมณ์เต็มที่ รายละเอียดหนังรวม ๆ ค่อนข้างคล้ายต้นฉบับ อาจจะมีบิดบางอย่างนิดหน่อยแต่ยังคงเนื้อเรื่องไม่ต่างจากเดิมมาก ดูพอกล้อมแกล้มไปละกัน

On the last episode of "Playing Zelda with Japanese Voices," I struggled with the infamous Shrine that makes you use Motion Controls. Even though I had done this before, and flipped it upside down, I still had trouble. The problem is that the physics don't feel real. It takes a long time for the ball to start rolling, and by the time it does roll, it's too fast to change its course.

After thinking too much, I started turning my brain off out of frustration, and tried using instinct instead, and I was able to complete the Shrine.
