Hey y'all! Today i'm sharing 4 poke bowl ideas that you can make at home starting from less than $1! They are so delicious, so easy to make and super healthy! Yum!
Tofu is really affordable so that made the bowl really cheap to make! You can dress it up with your favourite vegetables that are in season right now. Some of these ingredients are probably even more affordable in US or maybe otherwise but these are some of easiest to add to a poke bowl!
☆ Crispy Tofu ☆
Make sure you buy a firm tofu and not silken soft tofu. Drain the water from the tofu by wrapping it with a kitchen towel/paper and put a heavy object on top of it. Leave it for at least 30 minutes.
Then chop it up into cubes of your desired size. Take a zip lock bag and chuck all the tofu in there. Add a tablespoon of Soy sauce then shake it. A teaspoon of sesame oil and shake again! Then let the tofu absorb the sauces for about 10 minutes or more. Then coat it with some potato starch. Add little by little. Then shake it so that it is evenly coated and make sure that it is thinly coated!
Now put it in the oven at 180 degree celsius/360 degree fahrenheit for about 25-30 minutes. You may need to go up to about 200 degree celsius/400 degree fahrenheit if you have a big oven or your oven is not as hot. Adjust it based on your oven.
The tofu will turn out to be VERY crispy. Very tasty!

vegan sauces for tofu 在 Travel Thirsty Youtube 的最讚貼文
Ketoprak is a vegetarian dish from Jakarta, Indonesia, consists of tofu, vegetables and rice cake, rice vermicelli served in peanut sauce.
Ketoprak consists of sliced fried tofu, steamed rice cake (lontong or ketupat) wrapped in banana leaves, sliced cabbage and cucumber, bihun (thin rice vermicelli), bean sprouts, served in peanut sauce, topped with krupuk and fried shallots. The fried tofu can be considered as the centerpiece of the dish, since it is freshly fried directly after customer placed their order, to ensure its freshness and hotness.
The peanut sauce is made from ground peanut and palm sugar made into a thick paste, mixed with garlic, chili pepper, salt and also kecap manis (sweet soy sauce).
Ketoprak is a typical street-food. It was originally popular around the Jakarta area but has spread throughout Java. The seller prepares the ingredients at home and mixes them in front of the customers as they place their orders. It is sold in individual portions from small stalls or carts along the street. Customers may request that the dish be mild, medium or spicy. The price range is about IDR 8.000 to 15.000 according to outlets and ingredients included. Sometimes, hard boiled egg might be added.
Ketoprak is nearly similar to lotek and karedok from West Java, gado-gado from Jakarta and also pecel from Central Java, although the ingredients in the peanut sauces are slightly different. Gado-gado and karedok use only brown sugar for sweetening, but in ketoprak sweet soy sauce is used for additional sweetener, and ground garlic is added. There is also a similar dish from neighboring Singapore called Satay bee hoon.
