「傻Bee火車環島吃喝玩樂演講之旅7: 花蓮停留」

對我來說，光芒，是很特別的東西。

小時候的元宵節記憶，是期待，是盼望，是準備。媽媽會和我們早在前一週就開始著手製作今年要提的燈籠。
.
竹條架的框，各種紙類黏糊成燈，再畫上或雕刻起各種圖樣。燈籠可是圓形，方形，三角錐，或者有一年還做出了一隻鳳凰的形狀。中間黏上一根粗粗的紅蠟燭，燒的越慢越好。

接著，就是天天看著完成的燈籠，一心盼望元宵節的來臨，能跟著媽媽提起自己做的燈籠，驕傲地炫耀起我們親手打造的燦爛。🔥🔥🔥

元宵節，是快樂圓滿的。比起過年和清明節等節日，元宵節是小時候的Bee最喜歡的節日之一。👧🏻👧🏻👧🏻

記得不知幾年後，塑膠製的花樣燈籠開始出現。一閃閃各色的燈泡，可以靠電池燦爛一晚上。我手裡的蠟燭燈籠也總是會被其他小朋友吹熄，總要氣餒的再點燃，心裡便暗暗羨慕起塑膠燈籠起來。也買了一隻鯨魚燈籠。🐳🐳🐳

但有了塑膠燈籠後，那個跟媽媽一起親手做燈籠的回憶就斷了。剩下無用的竹條，就被遺忘在角落了。（大概偶爾會被拿來打調皮的我🤣🤣）

今年我走進花蓮的燈會，發現燈已不是人手一只的回憶。大型LED動物，爆炸閃耀的雷射光水舞，互動式的平板亮燈。2018年的燦爛，似乎少了一點點溫度.....

又或者，我只是懷念起童年。

元宵節燈籠光芒，我好好地記住你了。

Light. It is quite a special thing to me.
.
The Lantern Festival in my childhood memories is expectation, anticipation,
and preparation. My mom would hand-make our laterns with us a week before the festival.
.
Building the scaffolds with thin bamboos, followed by gluing thin papers atop to form the lantern. We drew all kinds of patterns on it. Our lanterns were round, square, tetrahedral, and even in a shape of a phoenix in a year. A thick red candle was position at the center, burning the slower the better.

In the next days, I would keep staring at the lantern, waiting for the Lantern
Festival to come. I could light up my lantern and stroll onto the streets with my mom at night, boasting the brilliance of our creation. 🔥🔥🔥

Lantern Festival is happiness and fulfillment. Compared to other holidays, Lantern Festival was my favorite holiday when I was little.👧🏻👧🏻👧🏻
.
A few years later, plastic posh lanterns started to appear. Those colorful and sparking light bulbs could last for an entire evening. My hand-made candle
lantern always had hard time to stay lit during windy or misty nights. After
countless relighting of the candles, I started to envy other kids with plastic
lanterns. My mom then got me a whale lantern the next year.🐳🐳🐳

But after we had plastic lanterns, the memory of making the paper lanterns
with my Mom ended there. The leftover bamboo was left at a corner ever since.

I walked into the lantern exhibit this year in Hualien, and realizing that it is no long the kind of festival where everyone carries their own lantern. Large
LED animals, Hundreds of laser beams light show, interactive flat screen....
the brilliance in 2018 seems a bit less warm.....

Or, I was just missing my childhood.
