汶萊與新加坡進行聯合演習，兩國陸軍的迷彩服外表還真接近

"We started the exercise with the goal to build stronger cooperation and mutual trust between both Armies. This remains relevant today for Brunei and Singapore, as two small countries in a dynamic and uncertain security environment", said our Chief of Army, Major General (MG) Goh Si Hou during the closing ceremony of Exercise Maju Bersama (XMB) 2020 in Berakas Garrison, Muara District, Brunei.

Conducted from 30 Jan to 8 Feb 20, the 24th edition of the bilateral exercise involved 121 participants from 3rd Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment (3 SIR) and 122 participants from the 1st Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF). The exercise consisted of professional exchanges as well as platoon and company-level urban operations training. It culminated in an integrated assault conducted by both forces on a simulated urban objective.

Since 1995, XMB underscores the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Brunei, providing an excellent platform for both countries to strengthen army-to-army professional interactions. Through the friendships forged and memories made, it has certainly strengthened the bonds between the soldiers from both armies, enhancing their interoperability.

新加坡與美國聯合進行「虎標演習」(Tiger Balm)，影片記錄

The heat of the day could not match the ferocity of the assault as soldiers from Our Army and the US Army conducted their integrated urban operation exercise at Murai Urban Training Facility (MUTF). Exercise Tiger Balm 2019 saw both forces working hand-in-hand to plan and execute operations as a Combined Task Force and undergo urban operations scenarios with our soldiers in their Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicles and the US troops in their Stryker Combat Vehicles.

Together, both forces tackled the enemy objectives, neutralised enemy improvised explosive devices and roared ahead, ending Exercise Tiger Balm 2019 with a resounding success!

新加坡陸軍與美軍進行城鎮聯合演習
史崔克裝甲車與TERREX AV-81甲車共同演習

Over the past few weeks, soldiers from Headquarters 10th Singapore Infantry Brigade (10 SIB) and 5th Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment (5 SIR) as well as soldiers from 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division from the United States Army Pacific and 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from the Hawaii Army National Guard, took part in Exercise Tiger Balm.

Armies from both sides held a brigade-level command post exercise and strengthened their combat capabilities through a series of exercises, including live firing of the Terrex and Strykers at the Basic Main Range (BMR) and integrated urban training exercises at the Murai Urban Training Facility (MUTF). It was the first time that soldiers were able to train alongside both the Terrexes and the Strykers in Singapore, therefore enhancing their combat readiness through these vehicular platforms.

This annual exercise allows both armies to collaborate as well as share tactics, techniques and procedures, and is a hallmark of the excellent ties between both armies.
