MELINDA LOOI (RTW) - MLI was founded in 2013 to bring the designer’s collections to international markets, in response to increasing demand from customers and international stores. The Melinda Looi brand has three yearly collections namely SpringSummer, AutumnWinter and Cruise. The collections consists of dresses, tops, skirts, pants and accessories, which marry modern lines with traditional details and fashion with art. This export collection can be found in countries such as UK, Ireland, Australia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, etc. EMEL BY MELINDA LOOI - ‘emel by Melinda Looi’ (pronounced eh-mehl) is a limited-edition, annual charity Ramadhan collection by Malaysian fashion designer Melinda Looi. The word emel is derived from the word amal, of Arabic origin. Amal means hope, expectation, and aspiration. In Malay, it means good deeds or charity. Each year, emel by Melinda Looi aims to collaborate with a local celebrity to help raise awareness and encourage the spirit of giving in the month of Ramadhan. A percentage of the sales proceeds of the collection will be channelled to a charity chosen by the respective celebrity partner. DESIGNER UNIFORMS BY MELINDA LOOI - In 2009, a new company and brand by the name of Mell Basics was launched. As the name suggests, it is a collection of women’s basics such as t-shirts, tank tops, camisoles, leggings, inner slips, harem pants, etc., all of which are designed for comfort and ease of mixing and matching with any woman’s existing wardrobe. What sets Mell Basics apart from its competitors is the fact that it is the first, if not only, Malaysian label made exclusively from certified organic cotton.
