🍰The sticky bun originated in Philadelphia in the 19th century when German immigrants brought their recipe for “Schnecken,” the precursor of the American sticky bun. The snail-shaped buns are made with the brioche dough and are placed in the pan containing with sticky sweet ingredients such as caramel syrup, nuts, sugar and butter. After the buns are finished baking, the bakers flipped them upside down so the sticky bottom becomes the topping.
