剛剛一直反覆看好幾遍，美軍使用19世紀期間的步槍，為「春田滑膛槍」(Springfield musket)，由春田兵工廠(Springfield Armory)開發製造，填裝火藥、裝彈、鐵具瞄準後再射擊，在各種戰爭中如：美墨戰爭、印地安人征戰、南北戰爭等改良，根據年份定名槍枝型號，如早期的1812型、量產最多的1816型，以及提供給海軍陸戰隊遠征的1869型等，是美國史上製造最多的滑膛槍
劇中的型號無法確定是哪一個，若照時間推論可能是1866型，也是美國首次出征海外可能持有的槍枝型號，雖然「燧發式點火」(flintlock)有使用一段時間，不過在當時也有「雷管式點火」(Percussion lock)滑膛槍設計，子彈容易填裝，更能適應氣候環境
至於出征台灣的美軍為海軍陸戰隊，考究的服裝感覺上衣略有淡藍色，不過非常接近在那時期的服裝樣式
