Economics minister honors Dutch representative Guy Wittich
台荷升溫大功臣 荷蘭代表紀維德將離任
The economics minister honored de facto Dutch ambassador Guy Wittich at a ceremony on Thursday. Wittich is slated to return to the Netherlands upon the expiry of his term later this month. During his time in Taiwan, Wittich strengthened trade ties and the friendship between his country and Taiwan. He's traveled all over the island with his family, picking up excellent Mandarin language skills along the way. Wittich says he will always consider Taiwan his home.
防疫期間，台灣曾援助捐贈口罩給荷蘭，荷蘭則回贈鬱金香和焦糖煎餅，並將荷蘭貿易暨投資辦事處，改名為荷蘭在台辦事處。台荷關係急速升溫，幕後最大功臣就是荷蘭代表紀維德，其實他早在30多年前就來台，非常融入台灣生活，不僅會一口流利華語，還跟著妻子一起攻玉山，足跡遍布全台。不過紀維德今年7月底任職期滿、將調任海牙。
