Sometime ago, we asked members of the public to share us their memories about our building. This used to be the Post Office before Sabah Tourism Promotion Corporation (now known as Sabah Tourism Board) moved in.
Here’s a story by Datuk Balwant Singh. “I started working there in the Post office year 1959 until 1962. I was then transferred to Technical side and started working in parcel section. And in 1960 was in charge of looking after receiving telegrams, money order and selling postal orders. At that time the top floor was the administration office of postal and telecom. The back of the top floor was the telegraph office and it is also where we were taught how to send n receive telegrams by using Morse code. I passed both lower and higher exams at one siting in l961. – Datuk Balwant Singh
Reliving the memory back with our limited edition 💯 years commemorative stamp and postcard. Visitors who came last night were allowed to send postcard into the mailbox time capsule.
