三月：AIT@40「共享價值月」：AIT@40最終篇章倒數計時！為慶祝AIT 40歲生日，我們為2019年每個月訂定一個主題，凸顯美台在各個領域的成就。三月是AIT@40的「共享價值月」！處長酈英傑和外交部長吳釗燮共同宣布成立「印太民主治理諮商」機制，以探索應對區域治理挑戰的合作模式。AIT和美國國際宗教自由無任所大使布朗巴克也在一場印太區域宗教自由論壇上接待了來自18個國家的代表，共同討論如何在威權主義、壓迫和缺乏包容的情況下，保護宗教自由。三月的另一個焦點是「打擊公私部門貪瀆國際研習營」，這場「全球合作暨訓練架構」（GCTF）研習營共計有17國與會者來台參訓，研議如何在肅貪議題上增進國際合作。

March: AIT@40 Shared Values Month: We’re counting down our AIT@40 highlights month by month as we approach our AIT@40 finale! To celebrate AIT’s 40th birthday, we selected a special theme for each month in 2019 to highlight our joint accomplishments in that area. MARCH was AIT@40 Shared Values Month. Director Christensen and Foreign Minister Wu jointly announced the U.S.-Taiwan Consultations on Democratic Governance in the Indo-Pacific Region to explore ways to increase our cooperation on addressing governance challenges in the region. AIT and U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Samuel Brownback also hosted representatives from 18 countries for an Indo-Pacific religious freedom conference to discuss best practices for protecting religious freedom in the face of authoritarianism, oppression, and intolerance. Lastly, the Anti-Corruption Workshop, under the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF), brought together participants from 17 countries to increase international cooperation on combatting corruption in the public and private sectors.

AIT Chairman James Moriarty and Director Brent Christensen had the honor of hosting the opening of the “Strong Foundation, Bright Future: AIT@40, U.S.-Taiwan Relations Since 1979” at the Tainan Creativity Center in Tainan. The exhibition shows how together we have built a strong foundation for the U.S.-Taiwan relationship, and looks ahead to the vibrant cooperation that will continue between our two peoples. The exhibition will be open until May 19, 2019. Don’t miss it!

AIT was thrilled to welcome Vice President Chen Chien-jen for a discussion on crisis management, sharing his experience and lessons learned from managing Taiwan’s SARS response.
