Applicants may apply for either the Award OR the Mentor Program within the application form. ⠀

The Award will grant three photographers $10,000 and Leica SL2-S camera set to help complete an in-progress, photo project that bears witness to humanity, expressed through the female point of view. ⠀

Awardees will also have an exhibition at Fotografiska New York to commence in 2022. ⠀

The Mentor Program will grant three mentorships which include monthly 1:1 coaching sessions by a VII Photographer, exposure on VII’s site, representation by VII Agency, Leica Gallery exhibition, and a 12-month loan of a Leica Q2. ⠀

UPM & Bio-Angle VACS (BAV) Tandatangani Penjualan Paten Komersil Vaksin Kambing & Biri-Biri

Selaku pengerusi BAV, saya telah menyaksikan satu majlis perjanjian penjualan paten oleh UPM kepada syarikat kami BAV. Paten ini adalah satu inovasi vaksin STVac1 semburan intranasal kambing & biri-biri bagi mencegah penyakit yang menyerang paru2 @ pneumonia pada haiwan tersebut. Nilai jualan paten tersebut sebanyak RM4 juta.

Penjualan paten Mannhemia Haemolytica Bacterial Polypeptides and Sequences, Gene Seauences and Uses Thereof (MY-176715-A) telah dimeterai antara UPM, UPM Innovations Sdn Bhd & BAV berlangsung dalam satu majlis disaksikan Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Dasar), KPT, Dr Mohd Zabri Yusuff.

Turut hadir bagi menyempurnakan sesi penjualan paten antaranya Naib Canselor UPM, Prof. Dr Mohd Roslan & Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan UPM Innovations Sdn Bhd, Azrul Reza Aziz.

Saya difahamkan nilai jualan pengkormersilan ini adalah yang tertinggi dalam konteks UPM.

BAV kini dalam proses membina fasiliti bernilai RM8 juta bagi pengeluaran STVac1 serta fasiliti bakteria vaksin bertaraf Amalan Pengilangan Yang Baik (GMP). Ini adalah yang pertama seumpamanya di Asia Tenggara & mampu membuat pengeluaran hingga 300,000 botol dalam setahun.

BAV menyasarkan 20 juta kambing & bebiri atau 1% dari jumlah keseluruhan populasi kambing & bebiri di seluruh dunia. BAV mengunjurkan pendapatan sebanyak USD80 juta setahun. Buat masa ini, BAV telah menerima tempahan dari China & Nigeria. BAV dalam proses rundingan dengan Amerika Sekatan, Bangladesh & Asia Tengah.

Selepas majlis ini, saya pergi melawat fasiliti yang sedang dibangunkan. Sudah 80% siap. Fasiliti ini akan mula berfungsi sepenuhnya di suku terakhir 2022.

Selepas semua lawatan dibuat, pihak pengurusan kanan membawa saya ke kawasan belakang fasiliiti. Ia sebuah pondok kayu. Di sinilah ofis & tempat makan mereka sejak beberapa bulan yang lepas. Berpeluh2 tapi ada semangat tinggi nak jayakan satu produk yang bertaraf antarabangsa. Kami tak lupa asal usul kami.

Setiap perjalaan bermula dari impian kemudian idea, kemudian kerja kuat dan selama2nya doa & tawakal.
