About 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered with water and it comes as no surprise that marine species outnumber those on land. Venture into the underwater world if you haven’t because we don’t want you to miss out on many things.

Unlike other frogfish, the Sargassum Frogfish lives among the sargassum seaweed you see floating in subtropical oceans. I’ve seen them from as little as 2cm to as big as 10cm.
The colour of the body are usually mottled and spotted yellow, green, and brown on a paler background, and the fins often have several dark streaks or bands. Believe it or not, they can change color rapidly, from light to dark and back again. The body and the fins are covered with many weed-like protrusions, but other than that, the skin is smooth without dermal spines.
Today I show you a photo of a Sargassum Frogfish on its own swimming in the blue. Tomorrow I will post another one in the sargassum seaweed and see if you can spot it.
