=================================
--------------------------------------------------
Cost money
ここでの「Cost」は動詞として使われており、基本的に「It costs money(それは、お金がかかります[有料です])」や「It doesn't cost money(それは、お金がかかりません[無料です])」のように使います。 と質問をしたい場合、「How much does it cost?」
<例文>
Raising kids cost a lot of money.
How much extra does it cost to get an ocean view room?
A: Does it cost money to listen to the Hapa Eikaiwa podcast?
(Hapa
B: Nope. It's completely free.
--------------------------------------------------
1) Cost an arm and a leg
--------------------------------------------------
2) Cost a fortune
意味は上記の「cost an arm and a leg」と全く同じです。「〜に多額のお金を費やす」は「spend a fortune on _____.」
<例文>
That TV costs an arm and a leg.
The bullet trains in Japan cost an arm and leg. It's cheaper to fly.
That car must have cost you a fortune!
She spends a fortune on designer purses.
A: Going to college in the US really costs an arm and a leg.
B: Tell me about it. I'm still paying off my student loans.
A: Are you going to get the new iPhone?
B: I really want to but it costs a fortune.
