What a spectacular sighting on Thursday to see a herd of Borneo pygmy elephants crossing the Kinabatangan river!
The pygmy elephant is the smallest subspecies of elephant in the world and it can be found in the forests of northeastern Borneo. Places you can visit for elephant sightings include the Kinabatangan River, Danum Valley Conservation Area and Tabin Wildlife Reserve.
Part of Danau Girang Field Centre 's research includes observing the elephants at a safe distance to better understand their movement and ranging behaviour.

All the best Tiger!
We hope that you will find joy in your natural elements 🤗 .
Thank you ORANGUTAN APPEAL UK and Wildlife Rescue Unit for the successful efforts.
A PROUD DAY FOR SABAH'S WILDLIFE CONSERVATION INITIATIVE
FINALLY !! Tiger is back into the wild !! after 18 years when he was first brought to Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre as timid 2 year old orphaned baby orangutan.
The whole Translocation Operation went without a hitch and was done very fluidly and professionally.
Personnel from Sabah Wildlife Department’s Wildlife Rescue Unit, Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center and a staff from Danau Girang Field Center worked tirelessly for the past 48 hours conducting very stringent medical examinations and laboratory tests to make sure ‘Tiger’ was medically and physically fit. “ Tiger’s journey then began at 3 am the next morning with a 4-hour car ride to the SWD’s Tabin Wildlife reserve Office. This was followed by a 10 minute helicopter journey to the Core area, a pristine Virgin Jungle Reserve right in the Center of Tabin.
Thank you Orangutan Appeal U.K. for funding this Translocation Operation . Also not forgetting Malaysian Palm Oil Council for their funding of the other operational costs for this Translocation
Cede Prudente - Pare Thank you to you too for joining us and taking some breathtaking photos of the whole operation

Back from the brink of disaster, the team finally find the elephant - but how do you get an elephant out the jungle, onto a tractor, and into another forest? Watch to find out!
