"Good afternoon, everyone. We are Angel the Great Magician, Ariel the Cute Magician and Asher the Handsome Magician!"

Haha, yup, this was how these three began the magic show which was one of the biggest highlights of the party. Seeing their happy smiles made all those hours of staying up to do the costumes and decorations worthwhile and it's this rewarding feeling that keeps me going party after party.

We kept things simple this time but added a personalised touch including a cake topper which says "The Magic is In You" and a photo of the trio, string decorations which the girls helped to put up, magic related standees like a bunny in a hat, poker cards and three figures to represent the three of them, DIY costumes and a stage backdrop. It probably took us less than two weeks in total to print, cut and stick everything and I was thankful for the extra hands in setting up. Yup, that's the good thing about having more kids!

We were also very thankful to have Ian of @truevinekidsmagic who hopped over to perform a 30-minute close-up magic show just for us. My kids were left in awe, the grandparents were bewildered and I was amazed that we still couldn't figure out how he did those magic tricks despite standing just one-metre in front of us. I especially loved it when he made Thanos' infinity gauntlet appear on screen which then magically pulled out a poker card that we chose from a deck of cards. How did that happen??!

We ended off the party with a yummy steamboat followed by a cake cutting ceremony where we finished up every bit of the ice cream cake we bought. The kids continued playing and sharing more magic tricks with each other and we only called it a night past 10:30pm. Fwah, luckily it's the school holidays. Haha.

This is the last party of the year for us, other than Christmas gatherings, and I am just thankful that we pulled it off. December is really a time to celebrate, rejoice and cherish all the good things and loved ones around us. Love you, my dears! ❤

Abracadabra, it's a Magic Party! 🎩🐰🪄

We might not be able to hold big birthday parties this year but that doesn't mean we can't have a cosy, intimate one in the comfort of our home.

The good thing about having three year end babies whose big days all fall during the school holidays and who said they prefer to celebrate together means we could choose to have just one themed party this year.

And that was what we did.

Being aspiring magicians who had picked up a few tricks recently, the kids were thrilled to have a Magic Party over the weekend. Apart from the decorations, we also DIY-ed their costumes including the wands, made to measure hats and personalised capes - which did make them look the part, right?

This stage backdrop was specially set up for them so that they could have their first ever magic show, woohoo! Even though the audience was not huge and comprised of cousins and grandparents, these three were still a tad nervous despite going through a few rehearsals. Nonetheless, they gave their very best and put up a good show for everyone, earning rounds of applause. It was definitely a good way to build up their confidence while celebrating their big day.

I usually ask the kids what birthday party themes they would like a couple of months before their big days arrive. Yup, that means the themes are usually chosen by themselves, though I might give a couple of suggestions if they run out of ideas.

Over the years, we've had princess themes, animal themes and last year, the girls chose their favourite toys as birthday themes. This year, the big girl decided that she would opt for a SPY PARTY, which is a huge change from the sweet, girly kind of themes we've had in the past. Since she's been showing interest in games like Cluedo, likes solving Sudoku puzzles and is always asking me to give her riddles, I thought this would be a perfect theme for her and it might turn out to be really cool and awesome for her friends too!

Kids’ Birthday Party on 2020.11.22. 🥳 They wanted to do on the same day. I was like ARE YOU SURE?! Nov 20th 4years. Nov 29th 6 years.

Daiso party decorations were pretty gorgeous 💖I decided to do half 'n’ half birthday decorations. Kids liked the party and they thanked me a lot 👍
