When covid hit us early last year, I thought about these Badjao children, who had all these while lived in impoverished conditions even before covid struck.
They struggled with having clean water and didn’t have have access to drinking water. And now I think about how are they even gonna disinfect?

I think so often, ‘these kids, how are they now? 😓😢’

It has been 2 years since I was in Lucena, with the Badjao families and children. It has been one of the most awakening experiences for me.
I think about these children so so often even till today. As I waved goodbye to them on the last evening we were there, I saw an impoverished 2 year old toddler without any clothes at all perched at top of his stilted little home waving goodbye to me. And I was doing everything I could not to cry again for the hundredth time that day.
And as I walked away, I thought it would be something I probably would forgot in a couple of months once I’m back in SG and get back in the thick of things. But no, I still remember and think of them. And now with covid, I cant even imagine how worse the situation is for them.
The last time I was there, they barely had clean water to clean themselves or drink. The kids cried themselves to sleep because they were hungry or sick.

This was exactly 2 years ago, my family sent me to the airport before subuh for my first ever episode of Sentuhan Harapan.
I always think it’s just over a year ago.
No sis.
It’s exactly 2 years ago.
That was our episode in the mountains of North Thailand.
Let’s see what’s in that picture that has changed in 2 years.
1) Awsam is taller
2) Hayyan has gotten fiercer
3) I don’t know where those shoes are
4) And those specs are broken.
