Hello! Welcome to part two of the reflections on good parts of 2020~
This is all about the work and collaboration projects I had the opportunity to do during this time despite losing a lot of jobs this past year. I had to learn to work remotely and distantly, as well as come up with new ways to earn a little, like starting my own online shop (check it out at rinrindoll.booth.pm) !
I was also able to turn my birthday into a fun producing project filled with specialized drinks, collboration images and characters, as well as do a livestream show to hang out with friends!
Despite not traveling at all this year, NHK Kawaii International gave us an opportunity to sort of "travel" for work. I got to sing and dance about teaching kids how to wash their hands thoroughly~ I never knew how much I loved to do kids show stage performances, haha. I also got to squeeze in some sightseeing time before our shinkansen left (even though we were only there for a day!) It really felt like a vacation.
I also turned into a virtual human! More to come with what I can do now that I have a 3D virtual avatar, hahaha.
We all had to find new ways to work, like throwing online tea parties, doing modeling for livestream selling, doing online conventions like an RPG game, and livestream shows.
I’m now also working on music with @bonjoursuzuki ! Can’t wait to see where that takes us!
I'm really glad that new opportunities appeared despite losing a lot as well. I‘ve become freelance during this past year and while that's scary especially during this time, I'm excited as well to see where this leads. I hope you stay with me for the journey in 2021!
Happy New Year!
Love,
RinRin

The good old times are not what they used to be.
Memory is selective, as words and images are,
and all our choices in life.
I am often surprised, and more often distraught that “Jeremy” still exists.
Of course he is a “me” kind “of “Clone” that keeps on replicating every time every new viewer watches“Comrades : Almost a Love Story”.
When the film was in preparation period, Maggie Cheung called me (which she had never done before and has not done since) and said
“Chris, I just read a script that made me think of you.”
“Why me? ” I asked.
“Because it’s about and old Gweilo who drinks too much and has a Thai Prostitute girlfriend who has aids...”
“…That’s it ?” I asked.
“No, it gets worse…” Maggie replied “He is my English teacher and …”
“and What ??”
“There is this love scene in Chungking Mansions.”
“I’ll do it.” I replied.
There was a love scene in Chungking Mansions…but it was between Leon and Maggie, not with me!

Congratulations everyone!
A week of adventure in the exotic land of Sabah, The Mark Hughes Foundation Borneo Coast to Coast Challenge has successfully completed. Well done to all participants.😁
The Mark Hughes Foundation Borneo Coast to Coast Challenge is done, dusted and smashed!
What an extraordinary adventure with an amazing bunch of Australians that took on and conquered one of the worlds toughest adventures to raise funds to find a cure for Brain Cancer.
The group overcame some enormous challenges with temperatures ranging from 45 degrees and 90% humidity on the bike leg to 0 degrees and minus 5 chill factor and a howling bitter wind on our climb up and down Mt Kinabalu.
We overcame seemingly impenetrable jungle trekked through pristine rivers and took on the challenges of the adventure with gusto and pride all while carrying the images of the POWs that made the ultimate sacrifices so we as Australians can enjoy and flourish in our lives.
To walk in the footsteps of the Sandakan POWs is humbling, rewarding and empowering.
To do this adventure with a bunch of like minded Australians for the Mark Hughes Foundation is a once in a life time experience.
Some statistics for our adventure include.
Highest temperature 45degrees, lowest temperature 0 degrees with a windchill factors of minus 5.
3867 bottles of water, 8 bags of the famous Trek Fuel, 40kgs of snacks and lollies, 112 ice blocks, 333 cans of hydration drinks, more than 40 cartons of beer, 167km of mountain bike riding more than 364km of distance from Coast to Coast, more than 8000m of elevation gain and 8000m of descent, the summiting of Mt Kinabalu at 4095m the highest mountain in this part of the world.
These adventures are not possible without an incredible back office and on the ground support staff.
I would like to thank Julie Elliott from Wild Spirit Adventures for the amazing pre trek administrations Kristen Campbell our Superstar Travel Agent, Bernadette Jillu our on the ground Operations Manager that managed the ongoing and fluid situation with such great professionalism and good humour, Mohammad Jerome Robles for his outstanding knowledge and passion for all things Sandakan and Borneo and to Cassie Forsythe from Sabah Tourism for their unwavering support in putting together this outstanding adventure.
My last thanks goes to those outstanding Australians who joined us on this momentous and epic adventure for our mate Mark Hughes.
The last 3 adventures we have nearly cracked the $1million in fundraising.
Every dollar raised goes directly to projects that either helps a Brain Cancer patient or to fund research to find a cure.
Please help us to find a cure.
