🇺🇸 We are often asked about the opening sequence of the film. Many people wonder if the amazing underwater shots are a 3D simulation?! Well, no! We have spent 28 days in Tahiti filming the incredible free diver Sachiko Fukumoto and her freediving multi-world champion partner William Trubridge with the whales to capture these « one in a life time » moments for the beginning of the film. The two directors @mikova.anastasia and @yannarthusbertrand wanted the film to open in a poetic way, suggesting the idea of birth: that of a woman but also that of the universe. By the way Sachiko was herself pregnant during the shooting and gave birth to a little girl a few months later.
