On any given day there are an estimated 80,000 American citizens in Taiwan. Do you ever wonder why so many Americans choose to live, work, or do research here? AIT Facebook is launching a new series called “Why I Chose Taiwan.” This series is modeled after the globally popular Humans of New York (@humansofny on Instagram) blog. Each post in the series will feature a first-person account of an American, explaining what drew them to Taiwan and how they are contributing to their community here. People-to-people ties are the foundation of the strong U.S.-Taiwan friendship that has facilitated real progress for both of our societies and people around the world. Following this series, we hope you’ll be proud of Taiwan’s many achievements and qualities that attract people from all over the world.
