I loved drawing as a kid. Even at the age of 4 or 5, I was drawing all the time.�I would draw up characters, give them a name, age, personality, career, height and weight, and all the things that they love and hate – from who’s their best friend to their pet peeves. After drawing various characters in my notebook, I would then link them with various relationships, dreams and hopes, past hurts and current loves.�I realise – that storytelling – has always been in my blood.
�It has taught me to empathize, to dig a bit deeper, to know that everyone always has a story that make them into who they are, for better or for worse. It has taught me to reach for the story behind a person, and in that connect with them and their hurts and struggles. It has given me a desire to understand, connect, and heal.
There is always a story. Do you care to listen?�Because it will change how you treat others, and ultimately, how you treat yourself.
